I don't know if Trooper has ever discussed health insurance situation. If he has reported income of something like $35k a year, he can get "Obama Care" for like a couple/few hundred a month. He should be able to swing that.
Not sure what Trooper's current bankroll is, but I would assume it is higher than $2,500. Is it $25K? maybe? probably not?
What is his yearly income? $25K? $30K? Even if his yearly income were $50k or $60k, that probably is not going to give him financial security in old age.
Heck, what is the point of making to retirement if you never have fun, never had a significant relationship, but have $250k or $500k in savings?
I think I would rather have had good experiences and good relationship while young or middle aged.
I know a dude who has MORE than $1mm cash in the bank...maybe even a net worth of $2mm when you count his house/cars/small investments...but the guy is a MISER. He never got married, he has not dated for decades. He eats oatmeal like twice a day to save money. He does not have a TV, as he does not think he can afford a nice one AND get cable TV. I could go and on...he is a miser, and is absolutely miserable. He is constantly scared of running out of money. What good is having a long life, tons of money, but never doing anything? no marriage, no family, few friends...and so on.
Trooper also has possibility of "busting a move", making more money, saving/investing $10k or $15k a year. Keep expenses low. Stay with lady Trooper, have a good and decent life.
I hope he does!
