No, they absolutely believe it is completely fake and does not exist.

Apparently, you missed this little episode from a couple of weeks ago:

"though restaurants will still provide takeout and delivery service, but no in-restaurant dining will be allowed. Essential businesses, including grocery stores, will be allowed to remain open."

Wynn is going to pay all employees not just full time for 30 days and pay their tips, too based on tip rate over a previous period. MGM doing same for 2 weeks.

Wow. Holy F. The casinos aren't just closing for a week or two. It's a state order that the casinos (and everything else) in Nevada will be closed for 30 days. This is going to be horribly brutal for everyone and especially all mid-income and lower workers, independent contractors, small businesses, poker players, etc., etc., etc.

bad news definitely travels fast. ran over to total wine & more at 7 PM. 6 lanes open, lines 10 deep when I got in line and when I was done. to compare, normally at 7 PM on a tuesday night there would be one lane open and maybe one person in line.

one lady in front of me bought 34 bottles of wine, I counted them

This. This is not a politics forum. Take the partisan bickering elsewhere.

Does anyone know if gas stations are considered "essential businesses" and will stay open?

Yes, according to the article posted earlier:

"Essential businesses that can remain open include grocery stores, pharmacies, drug and convenience stores, banks and financial institutions, hardware stores, truck stops and truck service centers, daycares, businesses that provide services to disadvantaged populations and gas stations, as well as police, fire, transit and health care services."

Thanks for the info. Seems odd to me that schools have to close while daycare places can stay open. What is the justification for the difference?

Also, I don't see regular doctor (and psych) offices mentioned as essential. They seem essential to me.

Maybe it's a compromise for parents that will have difficulty keeping their kids at home. Just a guess.

Doctors and psych offices probably fall under healthcare services. Wouldn't surprise me if a lot of healthcare professionals (especially psych) move to remote sessions though.

Coincidence this came right on the heels of Venetian shutting down? I think not. Sheldon to the governor:

Yeah, it would be absolutely shocking if they were open in a month, even if they make changes to the way the business operates.

That's what i heard as well. 18 months was an estimate if we social distance properly but if we don't then it could be far quicker. I don't expect any lockdowns for that long though.

Yes..so why is it better for their kids to go to a day care center than to go to a school?

Dare care doesn't have set hours. They are usually open an hour or two before school starts and a few hours after it ends. School only stays open for about 6 hours.
