ULTIMATE BET Silent About Insider Cheating Allegations; Millions Suspected Stolen

When Tokwiro says they bought Ultimate Bet, what does that mean?

Excapsa was a network like Ongame or Ipoker, and Ultimate Bet was a skin on the network like Tower or Titan. Ultimate Bet was by far the dominant skin on the network (so the Party network might be a better comparison) but they were not the only one - The infamous Pokershare for example.

Excapsa was bought by Blast Off in Oct of 2006 (Excapsa was briefly traded on the London stock exchange and quickly went private on the eve of the UEIGA).

Tokwiro says they bought Ultimate Bet in Oct of 2006.

Tokwiro has made no mention of buying either Excapsa or Blast Off. Only Ultimate Bet.

DV8poker.com still exists as a skin of the "network formerly known as Excapsa".
GreenTiePoker.com still exists as a skin of the "network formerly known as Excapsa".
UpperClassPoker.com still exists as a skin of the "network formerly known as Excapsa".

Blast Off is still registered as an active company in Malta.

Excapsa is still registered as an active company in Quebec (requires annual renewal).

So does Tokwiro just own a skin on someone else's network?

It's the networks that really run the show, NOT the skins. The way these deals work, the majority of the profits are paid to the networks. The skins are really just commissioned salesmen.

Even if we give Tokwiro the benefit of the doubt (ha!) it doesn't matter if they're not actually the ones running the network.

Wow, thats interesting.I just had a look at GreenTie poker and theres a picture of Phil Hellmuth and it says powered by Ultimate Bet, I never heard of these other skins before.

Just had a look at DV8 poker and they have a picture of a UB table and they say this.

About DV8poker.com

DV8poker.com is owned by UK based AVA Leisure – a well established and respected operator of gaming arcades and manufacturer of gaming machines. The industry leading software used on DV8poker.com is operated by eWorld Holdings, Ltd. who are licensed by the Kahnawake Gaming Commission.

Does it really matter if there was a change in ownership?

Hi, i registered in Mypokerintel.com and i play in Ultimate Bet, and there is something very criminal for me. When i check the players on the tables if they are winners or loosers in Mypokerintel.com there is almost no winners, all players are losers with - BB/100. There are 3 types of player , small winners , lossers , and big lossers, This is imposible , did anyone else notice that ? How can there be so much lossers without winners ?

UB is "claiming" the perpetrators were employees from previous ownership and that they have no current connection to UB.

But if that were true, wouldn't the same be true for AP? And since that happened 6 months prior to the UB scandal you would think that the perpetrator/s (who AP claims they struck a deal with to forgo criminal charges in exchange for the information) statement would raise red flags for UB? How do you not try to ensure security on AP without even thinking about UB.

Maybe I'm not informed here... but are these sites not run by the same company AND at the time using the same general software or at least server code?

The plots are pretty but there are two problems. The distribution of outcomes is not normal, its skewed and the variance between people is not random, but at least partially related to skill so normal theory is not valid in this case.

The idea that a person who goes all in with a 9 high flush draw with no pair and a 2 as a kicker was cheated is just play silly!!! Anyone who goes all in with a 9 high flush draw with no outs (no straight draw, no high cards), and only 1 card to come deserves to lose. The guy that called had much better starting cards (10 & 9) and perhaps knew how lose CrazyMario plays -- and figured that the all in was a semi-bluff.

just got some info about these players, apparently sugardaddy has tons of hands and is just a marginal winner, and spiker still plays on and off. nvm, they just looked odd in my db. thx,

Thinking my initial perception was wrong, I decided to play him again (after I beat him), and he stomped me and everyone else and was back to crushing.

it was just really suspicious that after we outed him next day he proceeds to dump like crazy playing nothing like he played b4.

if i had to bet on it, i would say there is a high likelihood of echoes17 being a superuser or some sort.

I think the best approach would actually be a large "KGC" with the circle/slash superimposed over it. Gets everything in one fell swoop! I am not a Photoshopper or I would try it.

hows 10k sound?

i have no inside info at all on it btw, just have watched him play alot.

I've talked to guacho and I honestly think that echoes cannot be a superuser. He did literally completely reverse his game a couple days ago vs me, and that might have thrown people off.

07-02-2008 , 07:09 PM
I looked through and couldn't find anything on this but was there any cheating involved in high stakes limit holdem?
07-04-2008 , 03:02 AM
I have been VERY impressed with the way UB have conducted themselves im considering moving my roll from FT to UB.

This is a pretty big move and a big honor to UB. It will be the third site i deposit on and the first to transfer the bulk of my role from tilt too.

UB is the best.
07-04-2008 , 10:06 AM
Yeah, wow, what an honor it must be for them. They must really be the best.

Phil Tom Eliminated
Phil Tom was just eliminated by Cory Tymich. The board had three hearts on it and Tymich's was better then Tom's .
