Through event 27 there have been nine tourneys with added money.

Events 1- 14 all surpassed the guarantee,

Events 15-27 only 4 of 13 passed it.

Events With Layover

#15 - Razz
#16 - PLO
#19 - NLH Turbo
#20 - LHE
#22 - $530 NLH $3M gtd
#23 - 4-max
#24 - Stud - only $8K overlay
#26 - Mixed Holdem -
#27 - Badugi - only $3K overlay

many of these are in the last 3 days where a lot of tournament pros have been traveling to England and playing in UK tournaments. (Only a minor effect)

I don't think the turnouts are lower than last year, the guarantee's are just more ambitious My take is that they had this magic $50million number in their head for the series and perhaps the dispersal of the guarantees among the events was off a bit. Overall, I think the buy-in's will still exceed $50million(not counting the money Stars has added to the overlay events) when the dust clears. Some of the events have blown away the guarantees by a lot more than any of the events have fallen short.

Will be interesting to see how it goes the rest of the way.

Don't forget Rugby! (The game Handegg should have been, without the helmets and ostentatious padding)

Hi guys, great show, 1/4th of the way through.

Can you elaborate on 27:15?

Mike speculating on the FBI's thoughts:

"We think you have information we could find valuable on pursuing some sort of a money laundering case against the likes of Howard Lederer, you know, Chris Moneymaker, Andy Bloch etcetera"

This is the first time I've heard of Moneymaker's possible involvement, is Stars caught up in this too?

The Kathy Liebert interview exceeded all expectation... She is very smart, articulate and real. But all seriousness aside, I can not believe there was no mention of this...

Pretty much guarantee that MJ meant Feguson and not Moneymaker.

In your discussion of the ME coverage, one of the most objectionable things was not only the fact that they had the dog barker (street fighter, male stripper becomes successful businessman); but that they combines this with the loud and brash Steve Buckner (troublemaker, lives in an alley becomes successful businessman).

If your going to cover a loud obnoxious guy, why cover literally the same guy as well! A little variety is needed!

btw, I think that it's only the very posh 'lah-de-dah' English females that might use the term 'smashing'.

I'm definitely calling it The Twitter from here on.

Show was pretty solid, I thought the guests were good but the hosts were on excellent form.

But the birthday stuff sucks really bad.

Should have been bumper music for sure. I still have never seen Gogol Bordello live. So ashamed.

You mentioned Stona recorded parts of mikes final table with added comments, is there a link somewhere? Tried to find it, but I am blind, I guess

A woman has won a WPT. Van Nguyen won a WPT Invitational. This is not an invite-only event and is a legitimate WPT tournament with several hundred entrants.

To illustrate, Barry Greenstein is considered to have won 2 WPTs (plus one invite called "By the Book"); one of those was the WPT invitational.

Pretty sure The WPT Invitational is a freeroll and is not considered a `true`title by anyone, including the WPT. It`s a step up from Ladies Night or Bad Boys Of Poker. In their Wikipedia entry which chronicles year-end results and stats, they don`t even include the results of the WPT Invitational at all.

If you asked Barry if he considers his `By the Book`SNG win an actual WPT title, I think you`ll find he`ll say no.
