get less fat if you are fat.

not flaming out on the 15th hole and having the same focus late as yu have on the first tee box is extra awesome for your game.

Carolina National. I just couldn't find my swing at all. I actually chipped and putted well. It just took forever to get to the greens.

I am keeping my confidence up with the following rationalization. I am badly out of shape. I played golf Thursday and Saturday (5 hour round in 90 degree weather), spent Friday and Sunday on the beach and otherwise chasing my niece and nephew around. So by the time we played the Monday round in more than 90 degree heat plus no breeze I was exhausted. Hard to hold onto a swing that isn't ingrained when you're that tired. My arms and quads are still sore this morning. I think I'm going to start a thread on fitness for golf.
Otoh, when you hit 144 shots, you're hitting twice as many shots as par. I'd be tired too!

That occurred to me. And since my putting and < 50 yd shots were closer to normal, that really means I hit (er, tried to hit) about 80-90 full shots. Ugh.

Ugh. I've barely gotten out at all this summer. It's been super nice the past 2 weeks and I've only been out once. Need to fix that.

I shot well on the front and then imploded on the back. I scored a 10 on the 11th, 10 on the 14th, and 11 on the 18th. Beautiful. I don't recall scoring a double digit hole for the past 2 years, so I was about ready to punch myself in the face. Finished with a 98, which means I could've finished with one of my better scores ever if I had managed to not **** up every iron and wedge shot for those 3 holes. Somehow I mixed in the best teeshot of my life to date on the 13th tee. Cut a 375 dogleg left around the trees with a slight draw to 81 yds out in the fairway. I was pretty excited since I am pretty bad with my driver.

41. I must be improving, only 4-putted once. From 12 feet.

48-55-103 (par 70) this morning. I want to shoot myself. 8/14 FIR, 1/18 GIR, 36 putts

This was a crap round for me, but was the first time I had zero penalty strokes.

Flatirons Golf Course Boulder, CO 70.3/128 from blues

The numbers are really deceiving. I have played sooooooooooo well with my chip/pitch shots the last two rounds. My putting was ATROCIOUS. I had a ton of first putts within 5-6 feet that I missed. This was a really disappointing round for me. My approach shots still keep coming up short which is frustrating because I am driving really well and should have many more GIR's.

48-54-102 using only irons from the tips, back nine was pretty lol, scores ranged from 2 to 9...

and I missed my first hole-in one by ~6 inches

48+46 = 94 on a par 70 (although I did give myself a couple strokes by playing some balls more than once). I went alone for the first time because I've gotten really addicted to golf lately, lol. My distance is pretty poor in general so I'm going to go buy a Ben Hogan CFT 4 hybrid tonight since my long irons are maing me suffer.

Played Thunderhawk in NW IL yesterday, a very stunning course. The rough there is so thick and so much of the real estate is OB. The greens were eating everyone in my 4some alive not just me, and I was the worst golfer of the 4.

Anyways, had a putt on 18 for a birdie for a 99, proceeded to 3 putt for a 101. My putting is such a huge leak in my game. I had exactly 1, 1-putt all day.

Started off good after a good warmup, but one of several spazzy holes where I just yacked all over around the green. First round with my new irons and I struck them pretty well. Definitely happy with the purchase. Even "ok" swings make good contact. A 10 and two 9's (none on par-5's) really got this one out of hand.

I rebounded nicely, 41-40 (33) at Meadows in Jersey. Easy course, but I hit greens and putted well. I 3 putted 18 from 15 feet, could have broken 40 for the first time ever.

Also got a big job offer this week, and I have another company that seems interested in bettering it. Its been a good, good week. Now for beer and women....

Visiting parents and playing a casual round with them I accomplished at least three things that will never be bettered in one round of golf.

1, hit all 18 greens in regulation
2, missed 18 birdie putts
3, made 18 pars

Hit every friggin' green and two-putted them all. 18 pars. Found a way to F up all 4 par 5's. Not a terrific ball-striking round, just happened to slop my way onto every green. Since par is 71 I actually had more putts than shots. Naturally wasn't tournament focused, but still. Sick, sick game.

18 GIR ties a record, no doubt, but couldn't you have taken fewer strokes to make those 18 GIR-- and wouldn't that be better.

Hmmmm. Angels and pinheads, man, there's always a catch.

Oh sure, could have reached par 5's in two. But a GIR is a GIR, counts the same statistically regardless if you reach the green in two or in three on a par 5.

On my 17th hole, a par 5, had 225 in from the dead center of the fairway and proceeded to lay the sod over a hybrid. I actually kind of laughed.

I'd made 18 pars in a round before, and hit 18 greens in a round, but not at the same time. Also made 18 4's in a round when I was 14, clutch birdie on the par 5 18th to pull that one off.

But regardless, this is the type of course where I should shoot in the 60's every single time. Less than 7000 yards in length, nice bermuda fairways and perfect bent grass greens.

Hack!

What were the ranges on your birdie putts?

8 putts 15 feet or less easily holeable, 6 putts 15-30 feet that weren't difficult, 4 putts outside 30 feet where I was more than satisfied with a 2-putt.

And yes, the word hack certainly describes my putting right now.

45-46 (37), worst day all season with the putter.

Gaylord Springs in Nashville, lovely course if you're ever in the neighborhood.

89!

Went to the range Saturday for some work after the freaky 108 on Friday and to get more familiar with my new irons (Friday was my first time with them). Glad I did as I went out today at TPC Vegas and shot a season best 89 and the first time I've broken 90 in many years (and first time since I started playing weekly about a year ago).

Really played well. No penalties. No score higher than 6. My driver really has reverted a little bit and I've lost some of the straightness and distance I had been seeing recently, but was able to keep it in the fairway. Chipping was very good (almost holed out two that both lipped out the side). Lag putting was excellent. Missed two 18-inchers or it would've been an 87. Super excited.

had a mens golf association tournament this weekend, it was Quota and it was 4 man teams but everyone had their own amount of points they had to aquire i had to get 33 points since i have somewhere around a 3 handicap

8 pts. for eagle
4 for birdie
2 for par
1 for bogey

I shot 79, only got 29 points but never had a hole where i got 0 points, thankfully other 3 teammates shot over their quotas and we got 3rd......have State Amateur Stroke Play Event coming up in about 2 weeks so hopefully i will be playing better by then
