Now I'm in Dallas, and sometimes when it's just 80 I don't even want to play cause I know I'm going to be drinking a bottle of water every hole and just so tired by the end of the round.
lol 80? wtf.

I remember playing one time when it was, oh 110 or so and humid. I got to the 8th green and putted out, and felt like I was about to die. I seriously just sat down on the green for 20-30 minutes. I was literally the only person on the course because it was so damn hot.

45 over nine holes (par 36). that's with me putting exceptionally well (seven 2-putts, finished with back-to-back 1-putts), which is definitely not the nrom, and driving the ball pretty poorly, which i can do but i'm usually not bad at. irons were pretty damn solid, and i'm getting very comfortable with my wedges. i seem to be compressing the ball better and better with my short irons and wedges, and i'm actually starting to take some divots.

just shot 88 (44-44, par 70), breaking 100 (and 90) for the first time ever. can't describe how good that round felt. and it started off bad, too: triple-triple-double. managed to close the rest of the front with 5 pars and another double. irons were incredibly solid, keeping me steady with inconsistent driving and decent enough putting. this was a huge step for me!

Isn't that the truth. Some combination of the dismal forecast and the big game kept people away from the course today, there were a total of 3 groups off this morning. After we finished (a little after noon) there were no cars in the lot. Weatherwise we really lucked out, it sprinkled for about 5 minutes total, and it really wasn't cold. I think it was 48 or 49 when we teed off.

Shot 37-39-76. Just a flat out great ball striking day. I only missed a couple fairways and those were by feet not yards. Never in trouble. Worked the ball around the doglegs flawlessly. Five bogeys - four failed up and downs, one 3 putt. One birdie.

Next year I'm taking short game lessons so that maybe I can turn a round like today into a 70 or 72.

Played the worst I have in a few months didn’t record a score.
It took me fifteen holes to realise I was reaching for the ball, pushing my weight onto the balls of my feet and swaying away from the ball in the back swing.

Shot 9 over today at my local course, should be pleased really considering the state of the course at the minute but felt like i gave 3 or 4 easy shots away. I was driving the ball well which was good for me. Hope to improve next week.

Somebody get me out of hereeeeeee its coooooolddddddddddddddddd

I cant even play solid when its this coldddddddddddd.

41-38

fwiw, if you want to see the most spin ever, victory reds spin way to much.

Literally a solid 50+ feet of back spin on 1 of my approaches. A friend has then so I hit them once in a while.

43-44-87. Ugh. Much tougher conditions today. I drove the ball into trouble a few times on the front and it cost me two shots every time. Plus the putting was once again lolbad. Oh well, it was still enjoyable and there was almost nobody on the course.

Shot 9 over par 80 this morning at the home course.

Played the five par 3s in one over par today, which was cool.

I hit one drive. Killed it for me about 280 yards. It is pretty cool to hit driver-sand wedge into the green on a 365 yard par 4. I just wish I could hit this drive more than once or twice a round.

Lessons?

Played match play today after work
I'm a 22 handicap so you can guess I’m not expecting pars, started par, par, par, bogie then he wheel came off a bit and I blobbed a hole.
I was really starting to believe this was going to be my day and it was all going to click but no such luck. I still won though, with two more holes that I should have got par or better on.

44-38-82 on Saturday
43-43-86 on Sunday

Very unusual to play so poorly on the front nine which is much easier. The last two holes killed me both days - double/triple and double/double.

The back nine on Saturday (+1) is probably the best I've played that side this season. I made two bogeys by "failing" to get up and down - when in reality I hit very good chips both times and then missed straight uphill putts from inside 3-4 feet. It was putting fail, not chipping fail. I did make a nice 15 footer for a birdie on the last, which was the only putt I made all weekend.

Ball striking wasn't quite as good on Sunday. Colder and windier, it was about 42 when we went off. The season is definitely drawing to a close, although if courses are open during the winter I'll be out there.

Played sixteen holes on Sunday and nine this evening. Happier with how I played Sunday. Oddly the best part of my game at the minuet is driving while iron shots are hit and miss and I have had some horrible chips and pitches.
On Sunday I was playing a par five, driver five wood and nine iron to just short of the green with a bunker between me and the hole. I squirted my pitch right, into the bunker without it ever getting airborne. The bunker was wet and I tried to nip it off the sand. I got the ball clean it shot off low into thick wet rough at the back. I was lucky in that I could take an unimpeded swing but the ball was bellow my feet and half buried in the wet rough. I hit it hard to make sure I don’t leave it in there and it races out and straight back into the bunker.
That’s an extreme example but illustrates how I have been playing well off the tee getting worse the nearer I get to the green.

I had one of those fun little ego boosting rounds this past Sunday. My neighbor has wanted to play for a couple years because he "heard I was good."

So we went to play nine with a friend of his. I started bogey-bogey, then hit the next seven GIR to shoot one over 37. They shot 53 and 50! The main thing is that we had fun.

I find it funny that each year I play my best golf in the spring and fall. I am just so relaxed, meanwhile often pressing in the summer I guess?

Do you play in the winter too?

I can see how fall golf might be your best, but the spring thing really surprises me if you're a spring-fall golfer.

As a spring-fall golfer, I usually experience my worst rounds in the spring, as do most of the people I've played with. I've seen some drops in the summer, though that's usually due to tinkering with the swing (myself and most I play with are 85-100 shot golfers).

I am in Michigan/Ohio so it is spring to fall. I have always been able to pick up the clubs in the spring, practice the short game a little and get right to it. I may be unique in this regard - or maybe the extra clothing just keeps me from overswinging?

Wow was it cold in Michigan this morning.

8:00AM tee time about 39 or 40 degrees.

We only made it through 9 holes and went for coffee and breakfast.

Awwww man.

it was 87 here yesterday.

By the way, I am getting sick of my country club. They have had 4 holes closed for probably the last 3 months doing "bunker renovation." What this entails is arbitrarily reshaping the bunkers, making some areas marginally more difficult and others marginally more easy. They are putting in the really white expensive looking sand that looks pretty in overcast weather, but unfortunately lets off such glare that you can't hardly see your ball in the Texas sun.

I am tired of playing 2 balls on 4 similar holes and having faux scores. Oh yeah and I am getting kicked out by my grandfather on my birthday in December b/c I am turning 25. I guess I'll just to have to join a non 14 hole exclusive golfing facility.

On top of this, my golden shoes are too tight and my house is so big sometimes it takes me a long time to find things.

Yeah, the stocking cap thing while playing is not optimal.

I live in Sylvania Ohio and we drive up to a little course in Adrian called Woodlawn GC. Hilly and fun track with some old fashioned country crowned greens. I bought a weekday membership for the season for $99! and I think I have played about 15 rounds. I am often heard saying "we pay good money to play here. How come they can't drag the greens in the morning?" Ha!

I am up for a game in Ann Arbor or downriver Detroit before it gets too cold...you Michigan folk. Would also like to get out again on Maumee Bay State Park course, especilly since it is links style so very few leaves there.

81 today @ silverstone in vegas.

34 putts - 8/14 fairways

course was very soggy so no rollout on driver. also nuked all my scoring clubs today and they put the pins in the front so had no chance to score.

all in all playing good past couple weeks, expecting my index to continue to drop right now.
