Number 10 was awesome.. big big downhill drop 360yd par 4, rest of back nine played uphill to get back to the top....

82... trying to make swing changes mid-round probably isn't the best idea

74 in 20-25mph winds. Switched to a 3/4 swing for my driver midway through the round and really felt I was in control of the ball while nailing it 275+. Watching Mickelson youtube videos helped the short game as I was not hinging my wrist, helped as I limped out 6 chips and pitches.

Cedar creek is such a sick course.

18 is like 2 number 10's put together!

Absolutely miserable, slow, horrific front nine. Couldn't hit a decent tee shot on any of the first four holes (maybe because I sat for about 20 minutes waiting to tee off after coming from the range). Took about 2.5 hours as I ended up as part of a fivesome that played the first four holes behind this horrifically slow threesome before they let us through.

Then played the back nine by myself racing against the darkness and shot a 49. I hate wasting a good back nine just because I f****d up the first four holes.

Played the other day and was a slightly disappointing 3 over thru 6 and then went triple, quad, triple WTF? I was focusing on keeping my upper vertebrae at the same position this round and was hitting em good. I had gotten about 4 hours of sleep the night before and was probably tired, but still...I hate when swing thoughts work at first and then backfire. I guess put a bunch of them together and you might finally have a swing.

46-39-85 yesterday, 45-43-88 today.

39-33 72 on a par 72 73.4 rating.

Made 5 birdies, and an eagle, and 2 doubles/3 bogeys.

Fun round.

Shot 9 pars on Saturday and 89 on Sunday, both of which are personal bests. For those of you who have followed my "Critique my swing" thread, these are massive improvements. Pretty stoked.

Best putting round I can remember (30 puts) actually gained putts in comparison to a PGA tour pro according to http://keithboyarsky.com/golf/round/1804450. That is the first time I've ever done that.

It was the windiest I have ever played golf in. I dont know how you people in Scottland/Ireland do it. Must have been a constant 30mph with gusts to 45.

Example of the wind. Hole 16 I had 270 into the green with the wind. I hit 3w and was pin high left of the green. Hole 17 is a 190 yard par 3 with the pin in front probably ~183 to the pin. It was into the wind I hit the same 3w and was pin high on the green. Guy I was playing with says "good thing you didnt make a hole in one. You would have to record it saying you made a hole in 1 from 190 with a 3w."

So on back to back holes I hit a 270 and 183 yard 3w.

I also just crushed a 6i that got up into the wind and landed in the water 135 yards from me (10 yards short of the green), I normally hit my 6i 175-180.

made 4 birdies, 4 bogeys, 1 double, and finished with an eagle.

2nd straight day I've finished birdie-eagle on 17/18...

So frustrating that I can't put 18 good holes together and keep my handicap down. Very uneven day--5 pars but only 3 bogeys. Couple of blow-up holes. Still can't get the driver working quite right. Only hit 5 fairways all day (and one of those was with an iron). Best drive of the day came on the 36th hole (go figure). First nine could have easily been under 50 had it not been for four misses from 4 feet and in. Chipping was good early on, then got suckier as the day progressed. Did hit a couple of a good LW pitches from 35-40 yards that ended up inside 4 feet.

i visited my bro who lives in the nyc area, and played at both winged foot and somerset hills cc (brag). while somerset is uber-conservative and tougher to get on, i was incredibly impressed with the entire layout/history/atmosphere at winged foot...hopefully my bro can find a way to join there!

anyhow, i play to ~ 4.0, and i have recently hit a serious downswing in my game. the greens at somerset are the most contoured i have ever played, so this translated to a bunch of lost balls and "x's." i also putted off the green three times on the front nine. so, i guess i shot ~90 there (beat).

similarly, i couldn't string any decent scores together at winged foot (west course) and prob shot ~90 again. i didn't care, as the member who hosted us (a previous 2-time club champion, and a REALLY nice guy) had stories about nicklaus, irwin, norman, etc. for every hole. such an awesome time!

85 on a par 70; Hermann Park in Houston. 10 pars; 7 x2bogey 29 putts... Fun had by all...

Must be nice having no one else on the course and playing 36 in under 5 hours?????? I rhode 18 (shot 81) yesterday on a medium length par 72, in like 4.5 hours. You were walking 18 in like 2.25 hours? Damn that would be nice. The course I played needs to do a far better job scheduling hahaha, it seemed like seniors day

My course is a little bit out of the way, so if I go on a weekday (preferably early in the afternoon or late in the morning) I can usually get around without too much traffic. I think I played through 2 or 3 groups and that was it. But a couple of other times on Friday or Saturday afternoons it's been pretty packed--it's pretty much as good as our golf weather gets from late September-early November. Sometimes during the summer I could go on a Saturday and hardly see anyone.

Anyway, had to drive up to Baton Rouge today and stopped at Pelican Point in Gonzales, LA on my way home. Played the Lakes Course there and shot 55-49 for a 104. Started off with 8s on the first two holes, then didn't have anything worse than a 7 the rest of the day. No pars, but nine bogeys. Their driving range was closed so I went in cold, but I decided I'd just try to hammer the ball off the tee and see what happened. I felt like my lower body was working really well and I had a pretty consistent playable big fade as opposed to a nasty slice (except for a few holes). Also, the course didn't have too many trees, so I could usually just aim left without having to worry. I think I had two bad slices, one pull that didn't fade much, but everything else was either the fade I was trying to play or a straight push that went just about where I wanted it to end up. 6/13 fairways (not great, but my best number in quite a while). Didn't keep distance stats since I was in a cart, but I think I think 9 of the 12 drivers I hit were 200+, with a couple in the 230-250 range. On 3 of the 4 par 5s I had LW, PW, and 8-iron 3rd shots at the green. (The other I topped my drive and hit a bad second shot, but still managed to make a double bogey). Pretty good tee shots on all of the par 3s (fortunately 4 of the 5 were either 9-irons or PW).

Beat: 3 3-putts. One of them was from 3 feet.

So My friend backed me in a cash game a couple days ago, 2 Vs 2 scramble 15 a hole 30 a side and 30$ total with an option to double the skins on the back nine to 30 a hole and still 30$ a side and total. Last hole of the day Im about 80 yards out, 30 feet above the hole and over a sand trap and drop it with in 3 feet to birdie and win a few skins worth around 240$. For that great shot I got a free steak dinner = ) lol. Were playing again in 8 hours, should be fun.

Could not get it going today. Started in the worst way, took a hybrid for safety and topped it into the ruff short of the ladies tee.
That was the only really stinking shot of the round but between a couple of blocks, some very heavy handed pitching, poor putting and trouble in bunkers I would have thrown up a very big number if I hadn't picked up on several holes.

42-39-81 on the same course. Hit it terribly, putted terribly, and it was really windy. Fall finally starting to show up in the northeast.

38-47-85. Was on track for a shot at breaking 80 until I made a 10 on number 14. Oops.

Last week my 7 iron snapped off at the head on the range before my round. I sent it in to get fixed.

This week I played with 13 clubs until about the 4th hole I realize my 4 iron's graphite shaft is cracking and flaking and apparently about to fail so I'm down to 12 clubs. I ended up on the final hole with an 18 foot down hill birdie putt to match my lifetime low round of 70. Instead I 3 putt to shoot an even 72 tied for my 3rd best score all time. I actually finished the round with 11 clubs because on the 15th hole or so I noticed my gap wedge's graphite shaft had a crack in it as well.

14 GIR, 2 three putts (both inside 20 feet argh), 4 bogeys, 4 birdies.

Plus 3 through 6 and then went quad par triple to finish +10 on the front, fml. Didn't even count the back. Quad was on a 1 handicap hole that always eats me up and then duffed 2 pitches on a par 3 which I still can't figure out why there was sand underneath the grass.
