107 at Los Serranos north course today. Tied for the best round of my life, but that other round was only 5800 yards. I think I def got my long & med iron game down. Just need to lengthen that driver and learn to hit fairway woods. I'll work on lolputting when I'm 40 and starting to decline. Too many other, more useful, things to work on right now.

It was great today. From the time we teed off to the time we finished 18th, we didn't see a single group in front of us or behind us. I have no idea how this happened. We teed off at 1pm on a Sunday afternoon, and maybe everyone was waiting for twilight?

Im gona go with week two of the NFL might have had something to do with it lol

Shot a round 100 on Friday, played the same course today, same basic conditions and shot a 42 for the nine I had time to play.

Rained out, coming back the 28th to try again.

Played in a 27 hole tourney today.

Each country club sent 8 members and played 9 holes alt shot/bestball/singles.

It was rainy, windy and completely miserable. Our team finished middle of the pack, but it was a blast to play the various formats.

Winter is coming

You can say that again, some bad (windy)weather here in the last week or so. Hoping to get out at the weekend but swing will probably be in bits after not playing for a while. Last round had 48 on the front and 36 on the back with a 4 putt. Just had no swing on the front nine and into a gale.

3-4 more months for me.

88 at Clear Creek in Houston. 2nd score below 90 in a row (2nd below 90 in past 18mos). Fixed my pull with irons inside 170yds somewhat. Not perfect but playable....

Shot an 82 the other day at this 9 hole 5600 yarder with very little water and easy rough. Then today I go out and play and shoot a 76.

It could have been a stroke or two better but I tried a couple of things.

My best round ever is 87 on a real course (6k-7k), so I hope to definitely break that wide open and continue refining my swing to get closer and closer to the pin, Holla!!

Weird thing is my last swing thought that worked was find the bottom of the arc and then for some reason I got away from that and now its keep my hands inside a little on the downswing. Don't know what's next, but lol golf and swing thoughts.

For 10 dollars during the week and 12 during the weekend, it's a great deal. Feels like cheating hitting into a couple of their 300 yard par 4s though lol.

Go play Hermann or World Houston, short also but its still real golf.

Haven't been playing much lately (and by that I mean only 4 times this month). Been trying to hit more balls before/after rounds to stay sharp. Driver is getting better. I've got a pretty consistent huge high slice, now I just need to tone it down and straighten it out a bit. And get rid of the couple of tops a round.

Decent round, but missed a few short putts and had 3 3-putts. Did sink a 20-footer for par on the 3rd hole to give me some confidence. And the lag putting was pretty good overall. Chipping/pitching was pretty good. Iron play was better than usual for me. I hit a couple of greens from 100+, and I'm pretty happy anytime I can do that. Could've been right around 100 had I made a few more putts and gotten rid of the bad drives.

Shot 85 today, But the good news is I hit my driver really well, I believe I hit 12 out of 14 fairways, but Greens in regulation is another story.

Shot my best ever 86 today. Starting off, I was warming up and got a tip from a course regular. He pulled his cart up to me and said, "Let me see your swing big fellow". So I gave him a swing and he says, "Keep your left hip pointed at the ball". I saw how far back my hips were turning behind the ball and I got the point.

Long story short I played and shot 45+41.

I left about about 5-7 shots on the course too (duffed 60, too strong chip out, putted off fringe into severe downslope and threeputted 100 yard par 3 etc) My main goal is to not make dumb mistakes and avoid those strokes next time.

I've driven this green from the blue last time (straight ball) and white (draw which is better) to the fringe this time.

Shot 77 on a par 3 18 hole course. Good irons, putting was crap and four drops for the round didn't help.

93 at Country Place in Pearland. Felt like part golf and part whack-a-mole...

74 Tuesday on 73/137 6800 yard course with wet fairways and sanded greens.
70 Today on 6400 par 71.

7 birdies combined in the two rounds. Made a few mistakes on 200+ yard par 3's.

85 at Cobblestone in Kennesaw, GA. First time I'd played out there and having my driver break mid-round didn't help much.

72 in the afternoon at Bobby Jones in Atlanta. 5 birdies but some dumb doubles.

Made 3 birdies and shot 89 at the old Houston Country Club now called Gus Wortham Muni.

Went par, birdie, par, bogey and was even through 4 holes to start the round, and then some guy got behind me and I went triple triple triple. Weird. I hope I didn't let him rush me at all. (I really hate people who tee off at 5pm and then play speed golf).

Found out one awesome trick though. I usually use a 52 to chip, and was messing around after the round and found now if I play the ball a tad toward the toe on short chips, pitches, the ball will land much softer with less spin, right where it drops next to the hole. This really helps on shot close to the green even with a 60. Point being = Try to chip with the ball a tad towards the toe to "kill" the ball more. Maybe even do this if you normally use a 7,8, or 9 iron also to soften the blow of those clubs.

Once again I record no score. I started with high hopes but lost two balls off the first tee. A high slice followed by a high hook. I lost eight balls all told. The strange thing is I feel like I'm not far from making a break through my bad shots where horrid but I didn't hit two bad shots in a row and I hit a few drives as good as any I've hit in my life.

42-39=81 for the best round of my life by quite a ways on a par 67 course (previous best on this course was 89). Started with three double bogeys, then played the next 10 holes in 2 over. Driver and putter were both really going well for me, but I'm still struggling with approach shots (in part because this course is not well marked for yardage so I'm always kind of guessing on distance).

Played in one of the windiest days of my life this past weekend, with a slight case of the pull-hooks. Birdied the first hole then didn't make better than par for the rest of the front nine. I got it back together a bit on the back, but all in all, it was terrible. It's tough to play in the wind, but it's even tougher when your ball is spinning everywhere off the tee. Didn't count the score, but it was probably mid 90s.
