Does anyone use oobgolf to record their scores? Seems really odd but they made a recent change where you can only see your 10 most recent scores??

Is there a better online free site to use? Just looking to track handicap and the simple stats by inputting my rounds.

I've moved around a bit, and so have my golf buddies. I am left with just one golf buddy. Other than showing up as a single (which I pretty much always do) and getting paired up and hoping to run into some decent people, do you have any recommendations on how to find players to play with?

Check the regional forums on Golf WRX. There is also an app for this but I can't remember the name of it right now.

I golf down there quite a bit. In the Orange, CT area. And obviously the courses near Foxwoods.

I already walk on and join with a threesome or play alone. I never thought I'd play this much golf, and it's tilting me into almost not golfing.

I'm down. Let me know when you are going to play. I'll probably be able to join you. Which course(s) do you prefer?

Grassy Hill is one of my favorite courses to play. It's on the Milford/Orange line. Also Great River which is a tad pricey and a little over priced, but great practice area. And up near Foxwoods I usually play River Ridge, but they currently have a gypsy moth problem and it makes it a really bad experience. Where do you normally play?

It's not random at all though.

In one case you're meeting three people who likely know each other and would likely rather play without a single joining them.

In the other case you're meeting people who are making an effort to make new golf buddies.

You can probably figure out which is likely to lead to a better outcome if your goal is to meet new golf buddies.

oh but on that topic, i always seem to play better as a single. i lose all focus playing with buddies and either drink when i normally wouldn't or think too much about the bs we are bs'ing about instead of thinking about my game.

each have their place, but if i'm playing to record a score or work on something, i'd rather go as a single.

I am a Grassy Hill fan. I tend to play a rotation of Woodbridge Country Club, Oak Lane, Grassy Hill, and Laurel View. I haven't played up by the casinos, since I tend to have some (not tons of) time to play.

Join the men's club at one of your local courses.

I travelled down to Australia 5 years ago and was backpacking and taking Greyhound buses up the coast, with a set of clubs. Good times.

Anyways where I'm going with this is me and my buddy stopped in Gold Coast area and used GolfWRX forums to post and see if any locals wanted to golf with us. This guy and his brother even stopped at our hostel to pick us up and we played a couple rounds with them over a few days. Sounds weird but it was a great experience.

Henrik Stenson DID NOT break the course record. I played Troon last month and just got a letter from the club telling me that I broke the course record!

EDIT: Sorry, just reread the letter it was the GOURSE record that I broke.

Anyone read/utilize Bobbly Clampett's The Impact Zone? I'm liking it so far and will incorporate some of the drills into my game.

I always shy away from teaching items. When the monthly golf rag arrives in the mail I skip all the instruction. I just don't need anything else running through my head when I play.

The one thing that I always read is tips on bunker play. I can't resist those.

I have the Impact Zone dvds. About the only thing I remember from it is that it was good for getting the swing bottom in front of the ball which most people don't do properly.

I have the book...tried the first drill, which is putting, and it worked great. Looking forward to the others.
