but seriously, DP is probably right; you probably need to slow your backswing down.

also, stop using a 3 iron.

Was thinking of the Winn Dri Tec.
Get a rosin bag or carry some gold bond/baby powder in the bag. Once I started this a couple years ago I never leave home without it. This is coming from a player who lives in the south and doesn't wear a glove at all.

I also think she is pretty plastic looking. Not really my type either but her body is pretty absurd.

I think she looks a lot older than her age too.

Her not being someone's cup o' tea is one thing, a blanket "not attractive" statement is another.

Maybe thats a little harsh, but her face is definitely her least favorable trait. Dat makeup is too much. Do want her legs wrapped around me though

Assistance needed!

I am part of a really great golf group called the Racing Mules Golf Association. "Not every golfer is born a thoroughbred" is the tagline.

The Racing Mule Golf Tour is a 6-tournament series in the Roaring Fork Valley (near Aspen, CO) with the goals of bringing together people with a passion for golf and raising money for local charities. Click on "charitable grants" from the Racing Mule homepage for more information. Since 2004 almost $100k has been raised (2012 grants haven't been updated due to ineptitude of the website guy, imo).

The final tournament of the season is the "Mules Buddies" which requires all members who are playing to bring a non-mule partner (more people, more $$!!). The format is twosomes; 6 holes of best ball, 6 holes of scramble and 6 holes of chapman. It is played at Aspen Glen, a really great course.

*** This year we're trying to spice up the long dive and closest to the hole competitions.

Closest to the hole is going to be a combined distance of both players. I'm debating whether to have it on the shortest par 3 and require both players to hit the green, or to have it on a more challenging par 3 and take the combined yardage regardless; theoretically allowing a gimme birdie and a shot that is just off the green to potentially beat two shots that are on the green but a combined further distance; thoughts??

For the longest drive I want to do a "total driving"; using a combination of distance and accuracy. The game plan is to have a line down the center of the fairway (big break style) and measure distance from the tee and distance from the center line. We'll have a lovely young lady driving out to the fairway with each group to note the distances. Then we'll use some formula to determine a score.

The idea is to take a certain percentage off the distance for each yard "off center" Something between 1.5% and 2% seems right to me.

Distance * (1-(x*yards of center)) where x = the % we allocate

eg.

Player A - 245 yards and 4 yards from the center line.
Player B - 275 yards and 7 yards from the center line.
Player C - 300 yards and 12 yards from the center line.

At 1.5% for each the scores would be 230.3, 233.55 and 241.5 and player C would win. Advantage distance.

At 2% the scores would be 225.4, 221.4 and 222; player A is the winner. Advantage accuracy.

Obviously there are a ton of possible outcomes and I've messed around with a spreadsheet quite a few times this summer and haven't come up with anything that seems great. This is why even the PGA tour struggles with the "total driving" statistic (and they even hired mathematicians).

And perhaps my numbers are way off. I am having a hard time determine what would be reasonable. So please offer any thoughts you have when you read this. Would appreciate not being called an idiot tho Also, it may all be moot as someone may just smash one 310 (yea altitude) right down the line and it won't matter if we try to make it fair for the old guys.

The group is primarily older guys (I'm 28 and the youngest by a decent gap). The skill level ranges from scratch to 30+ handicaps who play entirely for fun.

Perhaps flighting it would work? Like 0-10, 10-20 and 20+ HCPs?

So I guess I would appreciate any help and thoughts. Thanks.

I think pics of lovely young lady who will be noting the distances on the long drive is needed before anyone can give any meaningful input.

use the par 3 with the biggest green, both on to count and use a wide fairway both have to hit then use total distance. Seems like it would take too long and make things harder than the need to be if you have to measure every ball from center line.
