I didn't say it would for sure, just said it could. It's worth a try, just saying it could have the opposite effect.

But, if he plays it off his left nipple, that sounds like it's already too far back in his stance. Standard ball position with the driver is left heel. Regardless of position, the key is to hit the ball at the very bottom of the arc or slightly on the upswing.

Don't use your nipples as a reference. With a driver the ball should be positioned 10 inches to the left of your right nut. This is assuming you are right handed.

Imo it's very rare to see someone move the ball back/hit down on it more and have it result in a higher ball flight. You have to put a lot of spin on the ball to offset the lower launch and drivers nowadays don't spin as much.

Buy a lesson before a new driver

How high are you teeing your ball now in relationship to the top of your driver?

I don't care where you tee it, just hit the ball in the upper 1/3rd of the clubface. Tee is where you have to in order to make that happen. But most likely err to the side of higher to help you catch it on the SLIGHT upswing.

That is the most logical explanation of what needs to happen I've seen anywhere!

What is the easiest way to determine if that is where you are striking the clubface?

Go buy some Dr. Scholls foot powder in the aerosol can and spray it on the face, observe.

Then spray some in your shoes.

Wrap the club face/head with tan masking tape. do ONE wrap (no more than this in any area on the club face) to cover the impact areas on the face of the club. where you hit the ball will show itself pretty consistently after a few ball strikes.

After a few strikes you won't be able to know which one was the last shot. You need to have a clean slate each time you hit a ball. It is much easier to simply spray a bit on the face than peel off and reapply tape every shot.

I took a picture of my face yesterday as an example....no making fun of my sweaty ass glove, I live in Dallas ya know!

Thanks Scott for your information, and your glove looks like mine and I'm in the Hills of West Virginia, no making fun of that... Also my next question might be a dumb one, but I'll go ahead and ask it anyway, plus I subscribe to the theory the only dumb question is the one you didn't ask. Back to the question, does this work for any club in the bag? Or since Irons are taking divots does that destroy the results?

Sure, obviously the clarity depends on how big of a divot you take but you can see where impact was for sure.

For any of you mega analyzers that think that looks toward the toe, it is and that is where I try to hit it. The toe is moving slightly faster than the center of the face so the mi**** is overcome by the slight increase in clubhead speed and gear effect. Heel shots are absolute death as the clubhead speed is down AND it is mi****. SO trying to barely toe it by an 1/8th of an inch to 1/4 inch makes your heel shot dead center and your toe miss is out at the faster part of the clubhead.

Make sense?

I'm wondering if I should buy some stock in Dr. Scholls after everyone here sees that pic and runs out to get them a can of the spray and the sales go way up.

The tee mark makes it appear that it's plastic, is it?

Yup, Bent Tree switched from long green wood tees to those a few months ago. No clue why, but it's the same length as the prior ones so I really don't care. I guess they last a little longer.
