I figured the scorecard was correct so I manually entered what was on the card. But now oobgolf is resetting it to 68.4/114. Another reason I thought oobgolf was wrong and the scorecard was right is because they had 4 tees and oobgolf only lists 3 tees, while the scorecard lists all 4 tees.

For what it's worth, I feel like the oobgolf slope is definitely more accurate. What should I enter? Is the country club that (bleep)y that their own scorecards aren't even accurate? lol.
Look it up at usga

Thanks Justin. USGA site shows the course's scorecard to be accurate, and oobgolf to be inaccurate. I guess I need to contact OOBgolf and let them know? I had a good round there so my cap is .3 difference depending on how oobgolf enters it.

EDIT: oobgolf info is edited by users. But only Addicts are allowed to edit course info. I'm not that so **** it. lol.

Anyone have some tips for a nice course or two near/in Dallas? Also going to ask around my club.
Will probably be down there mid-November.

I heard BO is from the DFW area. But unless you are a +7 he'll probably tell you to stay off the courses and try putt-putt.

Has anyone ever tried over sized grips on the rest of your clubs besides your putter?

I'd probably pay like $35 just to smell Win McMurry's cleavage.

I currently have Golf Pride mid-size tour wraps on all my irons except the 1 iron, which has a jumbo (b/c I couldn't remember what I had when I regripped and that's what 'looked right'). I can't say that I've noticed much of a difference (switched from regular size grips this season) really, but I have been happy with them.

What happens when the scorecard and the usga site disagree?

Default should be USGA.

You will see incorrect scorecards all of the time for courses that recently got re-rated bc they already had a ton of scorecards and aren't going to order a bunch more just to change a few decimals.

how/ why does a course get re rated?
MISC/RANDOM/BS Golf Chatter Thread Quote

I would assume, but didn't look it up, that a course could get re-rated by making changes to the layout, adding hazards, planting mature trees, moving tee boxes, etc....

so they ignore the data they intend to estimate?

Did not understand your question.

But a course, according to the USGA, has to be re-rated every 10 years.
And the factors that result in a new or revised rating can be found at the following link:

Yeah the scorecard and USGA both show the similar rating. OOBgolf's rating is lower and thus wrong I guess. The problem is oobgolf is editable by members who have Addict status.

Some idiot on there recently ****ed up the yardage on my home course. ****'s all ****ed up now. It's very obvious because he's got the much longer par 5 as being like 50 yards shorter than the other. ****ing idiot.

I never trust the yardage shown on the scorecards either. My home course scorecards on hole no 3, for example, says that the blue tee and white tees are 79 yds apart. When you get to the tee box they are no more than 15 yards difference. On almost every hole the blue and white tees are no more than 25 yards apart but the scorecards show them different by any where from 80 yards to 20 yards.

I'm curious why you trust what the USGA does given they are estimating statistics, but never adjust based on the data. Why do you care what they do/say?
