try the AP2's, they are awesome. i'm not much of a club junkie so haven't hit a lot of different sets but they are the best irons i have played. fairway woods, just find something you like the look/feel of and get a shaft that goes well with your golf swing. adams hybrids are also great.
I've always loved the look of titleist irons. Will definitely try and report back.

I'd recommend the Mizunos. I'm playing the MX-25s right now which are for the mid-handicapper, they give you a lot of forgiveness and are pretty easy to hit. I'm going to upgrade mine sometime in the near future, whenever I can find somebody I trust that will fit me correctly. I'll probably go somewhere in the MP-57 to MP-62 range which give you a little more of a blade feel still with some forgiveness. Those might be your best bet since as you stated you don't hit the ball all that well. Just test some of them out and see what you like best.
Interesting. Thanks....I've always avoided mizuno because my buddy used to play them and they were super heavy and I hit them really really low. They look good though. I'll give them a try.

I have dynamic gold super lite shafts on mine, they aren't heavy at all. Though depending on your swing speed if you go with the Project X shafts, they'll probably be a little heavier. They're definitely worth a try.

omg it's taking all my willpower to not buy the nike method putter 001. I've played with it twice so far at golftown and I am in love. The thing is, I am incredibly happy with my ping anser2 and I have no reason to change except the method just FEELS LIKE THE GREATEST PUTTER I HAVE EVER TRIED. ungh

You know that unless you buy it you will never make a putt with the anser2 again, right?

But you are not the only one holing everything on the putting surfaces in the shops

i shot 85 today...40 putts including 4 putting from 20 feet on #1.

I missed two birdie putts inside of 3 feet -- one of which had no break on it at all.

Yesterday I shot 84...somewhere around 40 putts (was so pissed off didn't count).

I putt worse than anyone else in this ****** forum.

This is NC, but I have to post this.

I turned my tv on and it is on E!, Giuliana & Bill. Bill Rancic, winner of The Apprentice.

So they go to a driving range to hit some golf balls, and Giuliana can barely hit the ball. Bill is helping her out and what not. Then Bill tries, swings, totally wiffs, and says, "there has to be something wrong with this tee!" haha yeah right. Was just a cover up for the camera.

And then he switches tees, hits it solid, turns around and tells Giuliani that more people are going to be at dinner. She then swings, and I realize her hands are backwards. Good coaching, Bill.

Practiced last night, in my first session I missed 10 of 40 4'ers. It got better from there but was still garbage. I 3 putted the majority of my lag putts to...I have so much work to do.

I would recommend Utleys book, but I think you could read Pelz/Stockton or anybody really and if you can assimilate and use the info your putting will get dramatically better immediately.

fair enough manbearpig, putting is simple and when people have struggles it's usually mental. regardless of the way you stroke it, if you think you're going to putt well you probably will, and vice versa. getting properly fitted for a putter and making sure you're aligned properly is also important.

+1 million. Tried it tonight at the PGA Superstore, that thing is incredible. They didn't have the 004 model which I really wanted to try. By March I'll likely have one in my bag.

No doubt he has some mental issues with putting as well. I just believe that even with demons in your head, getting it around in less then 40 putts is a no brainer (at most places) with just a halfway competent stroke.

But I would encourage anyone struggling with their putting to not forget about the mental side of it.

I just started golfing a few months ago and finally had an encouraging round. Felt so good. On the back 9 I shot a 45 (first time sub 50 over 9) but had 4 3putts. I had 8 straight birdie or par putts which was awesome. Now if I only I could sink some damn putts. I just need to develop some more confidence, I always get owned by the upward slope around the hole because I leave putts short. Hopefully this is not a fluke and the sign of some improvement.

Any NYC golfers here? Looking for some options besides Chelsea Piers - mainly due to cost. Something short driving distance is ok but would prefer in Queens (live right by midtown tunnel). Mostly a place to get lessons and just hit some balls, will be playing w/my Dad.

Mickelson was wearing a callaway polo in last weeks tourney, which I thought was stylish. Anyone knows which model it was? I have tried googling and the callaway homepage but I can't find the model. It was a blue one with a very nice white stripe.

Would love to have something similar with my company logo on for this season.

Never mind this, found some Calvin Klein polyester polos.

One thing I was just thinking about is why don't really good players insist on using blades and other hard to hit clubs. The very best players in the world hit wayward shots every single day. Wouldn't everyone benefit from hitting the most forgiving clubs?

I just can't imagine that being able to intentionally hit a draw or fade a little bit more effectively is worth the cost.

It is the feel. And the clubs aren't as 'blady' as they were 30 years ago.

For the best players feel >>>>>>>> forgiveness.

WTF!!!!
I just bought a set of titleist ap2's from a site called "golfbargainoffers.com" for a dirt cheap price. Are you saying these are 100% fakes?? I emailed them numerous times b4 i made the purchase to make sure everything was legit, and they seemed on the up and up. Should i cancel my order asap? I mean i'm still going to be getting them right? Will i be able to tell if they are a counterfeit? Like a Folex watch...the amatuer eye can't tell the difference between that and a real rolex....will i be able to tell they are fake?

I'm physcially ill after reading your post bonds...what should i do?

I am a club pro, and I have an account with Titleist.
For me to order the AP2 irons (3-PW) would cost me over twice what they are advertising the clubs for.
I have to assume they are fakes.

The clubs are probably pretty good quality. But if you don't want counterfeits, I would cancel the order.

ps.
I checked the golfwarehouse, and this set is $899 there.
