Ok based on my swing from last season: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V_JFN-lSf74

Would you recommend Misuno MX-100 or MX-200? Or should I just ignore the good offer I got on either? The price of the 200 is about 1.8 times the price of the 100.

do you care about playing a forged iron, that appears to be the main difference

hmmmm the 200s also have a smaller sole, kinda hard to give a great recommendation off of driver swings, do you take big ass divots?

No I don't take big divots, usually I pick the ball rather clean of the fairway.

I think all irons I have played have been cast, but I really do not know.

In this my main worry is that if I get down to about 14-15, the 100s might start to hold me back a little, and of course if it seems like the clubs are not really for me, but I understand it can be hard to tell from the vid. The problem is that I can't go to a pro to get his opinion before after the offer has gone.

You know yourself better than us, are you going to work on your game and commit to improving? If so, go with the 200s, if not, take the 100s. I'd always error on the more forgiving side for anyone in double-digit handicap range but the main thing is you buy an iron you're comfortable playing, one that looks and feels good.

As my wallet says 100s, and though I plan on improving this season, I sure ain't getting any younger, I'll stick with the 100s. Thanks for the advice, Spenda.

Srixon Z-Star and Z-Star-X balls are on sale at Golftown for the canadians.
2 dozen for the price of one for a really good premium golf ball.

It's going up to 4 and 5 degrees up here on saturday/sunday respectively and i am seriously considering getting out to play. It'll be miserable, the course I'm considering is operating on temp greens for the entire winter, but it would sure beat hitting balls into the wall of my dome.

i'm so sick

Was out for an early round this morning. Came to the 13th, par 3, 148 yards. Took a 7 iron to just cut it in against the breeze, its all up hill so cant see the green. Just felt so good of the club face, I knew it was good. Got up to the green and the pitch mark was like an inch away from the cup. Nearly flew it str8 in. Ball ended up about 5 feet away but made the putt for a 2.

Anyone have any thoughts on the new drivers out there this year? A friend says the i15 is good and the local pro is raving about the new Adams driver. Thanks!!!

Can anyone explain a shank?

On 2nd hole today, I hooked one left, punched it to 130 yards, shank dead right, shank dead right, shank OB, over swing hook onto green = 9. then I dropped on in the fairway and hit another one and I DOUBLE HIT the ball? wtf.

Then about 13 holes later, I drive it 280 down the middle, 3 wood 220 to 70 yards, dead shank right = double. I dropped one in the fairway again and double hit it. I mean seriously, full swings wth wedges !! (usually my bread and butter).

Also, can golf clubs get old? I've had my irons for like 8 years and they are probably older than that. I like them still, but will I gain like 2 clubs by buying new ones?

Has anybody ever booked a teetime on GolfNow and not showed up?

We booked a tee time a few days ago for tomorrow. The weather looks really sour for tomorrow, and we don't want to play. We called the course, but there's no answer there now, so we can't ask them.

Any experience with this?

did you leave a CC with golfnow?

the course is going to bill golfnow, I'm assuming golfnow will bill you, there's probably a 24hr cancellation policy which could screw you but there has to be an inclement weather clause

So I am moving soon, and the house I am buying has a DirecTV dish already installed. Just poked around their website, and it looks like they don't carry the Golf Channel? wtf.

eta: just googled it and people are saying they have Golf Channel with DTV, but I can't find it in the channel lineup.

I don't have DirecTV but I have 100% watched the Golf Channel on somebody's DirecTV before.

I just looked again and now it's in the channel guide. I mean, I know it makes more sense that I missed it earlier, but I swear it wasn't there. Oh well, good to know.

Looks like your question got answered, plus I suck and wouldn't be able to adequately explain it.

Can anyone explain a skank?

Here's Tiger Woods, who has enough money to corral whomever he wants to do whatever he wants, and he opts for random encounters with skanks.

--

Brag (for people still snowed in): It was a beautiful day today, so I went down to the course, and hit putts until I couldn't stand it anymore.

Beat: It was during a round.

Variance: I absolutely flayed both heels. Combination of relative inactivity (I've been going to the gym a lot, but not walking around in golf shoes) and leaving the shoes in the trunk of my car for several months.

I get the shivers when i see the s-word.

lol the day after i posted that, on the first hole I did that thing we aren't supposed to speak of twice on the first hole, the second one might've gone backwards (before it hit someone's house). Made a 9 on a 365 yard par 4.

Yep, still 6 handicap.

I've struggled with the s-word every season since I started playing this game. Currently an 11 handicap, but getting better at this game hasn't protected me from that dirty dirty word. Usually when they happen to me, they happen in a big way. I'll go through spurts where I am averaging like 15% s****s on full shots in every round for a few rounds. Then I go for a fix-up with my golf pro (one of shawn clement's junior instructors) where he helps me understand why they are happening and how to get rid of them, they'll go away for a few weeks and then start slowly trickling back into my repertoire.

Winter is so depressing to me right now though, that i'd rather be out on the course hitting shanks than dreaming about it.
