Kicked it? Lol, you ******. He takes medications every day which bring down his viral load (concentration of the disease in his body). If he stops taking the medications his viral load will shoot up and the disease will continue to progress, probably more quickly than normal as if you take HAART (Hiv meds) then stop the virus often becomes resistant to that type of medication if you stop taking it for to long. There are quite a few different forms of HAART treatment so you can go to a different one. But believe me, you do not want to take any HIV meds every day for the rest of your life.

Do some research on PEP (post exposure prophylaxis). Its a one month course of HIV drugs to be taken as soon as possible after exposure to reduce the chance of becoming HIV positive. Its often given to health care workers after needle stick injuries etc but is available from some private hospitals for non occupational exposures. Being somewhat paranoid about my health i've taken a full month course of these medications twice. Once after bare backing some hooker when drunk and her bleeding. The other after having a condom break with a hooker and finding blood on my c*ck when i pulled out. From either going to the gym/playing 3 hours of tennis/rowing 4-5 times a week and being active/partying reasonably often i went to barely being able to go outside in the space of 2-3 days. Your tired, have headaches, vomit, cant eat certain foods just to name a few side effects and over time (longer than a month, more like years) develop liver, kidney (also less common heart and other organs) problems as the meds you are required to take to control the disease do serious damage to your insides.

The chances of becoming HIV positive from female - male transmission are the lowest of any sexual modes of transmission apart from oral transmission (which btw, is almost impossible). Most studies find anywhere from 1/500 - 1/2000 per act of intercourse with an infected partner. Someone mentioned that the strain of HIV found in SE Asia is more transmissible than the strain found mostly in Western countries. The few studies done have found this and from what i can remember HIV subtype E (the more easily transmissible one) is anywhere from 2-10x more transmissible than other strains of HIV.

Yes your chances of getting it are very slim. Yes there are people who bareback hookers in Pattaya for years and don't ever become HIV+. Just remember it only takes once. There is no "run it twice" with HIV. You have it, that's it. Think about when the day comes you want to have kids/see a girl for longer than one drunken night of sex, being HIV+ is obviously going to be a huge deal breaker for most girls, Thai or otherwise, not to mention all the other ways it going to effect your life.

Cliff notes - Wrap it morons, either that or if your sure a particular girl isnt going to bang other dudes then get her tested and only bang her bareback, problem solved. Research the tests before you do them, PCR test will be +ve way before a antibody test is so do both.

Very obviously +1 on the post above. Well written.

What I want to add to it is something I feel most people advocating use of condoms tend to forget. Clearly everyone here is aware that not using condoms is a gamble. The more paranoid people don't think it's worth the risk, but as should be obvious by reading this thread, in the heat of the moment a lot of guys feel the pleasure outweighs the risk. If using condoms felt just as good as not using them, everybody would use them all time.

So how do you make using condoms feel better?

Buy good condoms

Most condoms widely available here in Thailand are pretty terrible. First of all, they seem to break a ton. Also, obviously the average Thai size is going to be smaller than farang size, so your average Thai condom The best option that I've found that is widely available (7-11, Carrefour, etc.) is Durex comfort, which has a 56mm width, though the length is normal. If you need something bigger than that, I think you're going to have to look online Sites like Condom Depot ship all over the world. There's no reason you can't get your hands on some good condoms even here in Thailand. I got my hands on a big pack of quality condoms from a specialty condom shop in Amsterdam when I went back home a few months ago.

Be consistent in using condoms

For a while I had a weird distinction going on. I didn't use a condom with girls that I saw a lot and trusted to take care of their bodies. I told myself I'd use them with girls that I randomly picked up after a drunken night. Yeah. That didn't really work. The loss of sensitivity from being drunk plus wearing a condom left me unable to finish too many times. And in that situation it's so easy to just say '**** it', tear off the condom and finish up.

So, solution: train your dick to become more sensitive again. If you use a condom 100% of the time, your dick will get used it. Jerk off with a condom on a couple of times. Also, stop watching porn all the time. You'll find yourself more sensitive when you encounter an actual female if your mind isn't inundated with high-power sexual imagery all the time.

Educate your girls

Tell your girls about the dangers of not using a condom. The education system here in Thailand is such that a lot of girls are not actually aware of the risks. I'd say 95% of girls I encounter are not on the pill and the same 95% will not insist on you wearing a condom. Tell her you want her to help you do the right thing every time you have sex.

Also, you know that moment where you go from foreplay to actually putting a condom on? Yeah, it can be pretty ****ing awkward. Now a good experienced girl will grab your **** and keep it happy while you're tearing open the package. Teach your girls to do that.

Well, that was a bit long. I couldn't really think of anything else. I've been pretty damn good about using condoms (one or two slip ups) ever since I found out that I had chlamydia once, and I hope this helps some people do the same thing.

Just remember that it only takes once to get sick or die a million other ways that you probably don't think twice about.

People get so paranoid and emotional when it comes to HIV.

Maybe because;

1) its incurable at the moment

2) living with it isn't as easy as popping 2-3 skittles every morning and night

3) its extremely easy to prevent. You could say "well getting hit by a car or coming off a motorbike and dying is extremely easy to prevent" which would be true. However never riding a bike or going on the road is a big disruption to most peoples day to day life. Taking 2 seconds to slide on a condom isn't.

enough of this depressing **** -

unlikely to get it but why take the risk

obv getting killed is worse

blah blah blah - be informed and if you risk it deal with the consequences - who gives a **** - be adults

Now to my post:
any word on the hangover 2? anyone know how we can get involved as extras or anything? where is it being filmed?
11-06-2010 , 08:22 AM
4. Western media make it seem a lot easier to catch and a lot worse to live with than it actually is

Wasn't aware that was being filmed in Thailand - awesome.

Just read online that production was supposed to finish October 24th in LA then move to Thailand. That was written on October 8th. Couldn't find any news more current.

I've seen two separate movies looking for extras via Bangkok Post classifieds but neither gave the title.

No it isn't bad, it's just irrational.

Motorbiking drunk w/ no helmet is terrabad but people don't get all emotional and make 12 paragraph posts about it.

The problem is if we didn't have this fear of HIV, we would probably be back to the prevalence of HIV in sex workers in Thailand of the 1980's which was very high.

So irrationality in this case is a good thing, and especially for those guys that are barebacking it is a good thing too as it means with their more cavalier attitude they benefit from others 'irrationality'.

As a result I wouldn't be so quick to pull up the guys that are more careful and get emotional about it, let them do it imo, its good for all including the barebackers........

I am in no way endorsing it or telling people not to use condoms. I just think people tend to be a lot more scared of getting HIV than they need to be. If you break a condom for instance, you basically have nothing to worry about, save for the HIV going runner runner perfect on you.

Rawdogging hookers is still probably not the brightest thing to do though...

Yeah, even leaving HIV out of the equation it's just not worth the potential trouble.

I did it once blackout drunk although not an actual hooker hooker but scratch dog party girl/possible freelancer but I felt pretty bad for a long time after.

speaking of rawdoggin' hos, we'll be going out in Patong Sunday night if the new people wanna join

There is no discernible difference between latex Thai condoms and US latex condoms. Latex condoms are basically a commodity. I'm all ears if someone can substantiate the opposite.

Secondly, condoms do come in sizes. I did not know this until I bought some small ones and a girl filled me in. On the back of the package there will be a size in millimeters. I think 7/11 might have more western brands and bigger sizes, but Family Mart has a good selection as well. Just check the back of the box and you'll be fine.
