should be some good vids on youtube showing you the ziplines.
Cool suggestion. Think this would be an entertaining solo trip? Also I can't tell how to get there from the website. Is there a bus from CM?

i think easiest/fastest would be to fly to kuala lumpur and hop right back on a plane back to thailand its def not very exciting and might not be the cheapest option but it def would be the easiest/fastest. second would be crossing the border at myanmar by bus or any other option. just remember if u crosss by land they only give u 2 week pass and if u cross the border by air then u get one month pass, unless of course u have a multiple entry visa then it doesnt matter. fun/interesting i have no advice as i have never done a fun or interesting border run

I had few friends that just drove their scooters to the Myanmar boarder from Chiang Mai and then back last week. They said it was a nice ride and not bad at all.

people use the term "visarun" for both going abroad to apply for a new visa and for just leaving/coming back same day when you have a visa already, just needing to use another entry

since he mentioned going to the thai school for ED-visa i understood from his post that he actually needs to go apply for a new visa

Has anybody got a Education Visa report here? If you don't want to post you could PM me. I'm living here two years but I'm moving to the Ed Visa in two months and I'm trying to get the best school I can regards security of Visa and decent classes. A pointer towards any other forum with some info would be great.

I'm in BKK.

Is there a Thai Itunes store website? From searching the web, I've found forums that discuss that different countries have their own Itunes stores. But then they talk about having to set up your Ipod/Ipad itune account with an address in that country before it will work.

My wife is Thai (we live in US) and she wants to access Thai songs/videos, etc. But the US itunes store has very little.

So is there a Thai Itunes store, and if so, can it be accessed from an Ipod/Ipad set up for the US?

Thanks.

I am thinking of going to Thailand for a holiday in march but i dont really know how I should do it and figured you guys would have some good advice.

A little about my situation/what I'm after.

I'm single, male, 25. Im hoping on going for 8-10 days. I will be travelling alone but would like to be somewhere where I can meet people to hang out with etc. My First thought was to stay in a Hostel because that would be an easy way to meet other young people, but I dont really want to stay in a dorm with 10 other people and would like the option of being able to take a girl back to mine without other people being there. I'm not really a huge sightseer - I just want to relax on my holiday, not fill it with day after day of tours but will probably want to do something on 1 or 2 of the days. With the rest of the time being spent in a pool or on a beach etc. I'd like somewhere with some good nightlife.

I assume pretty much all tourist places in Thailand fit this description but maybe you guys would know which is best.

Oh and my planned budget for accommodation and spending is around 2k for the 8-10 days. Is that enough?

Thanks

Phuket would be a standard choice here. And 2k is probably enough, unless you get super crazy. I'm not a fan of Patong, but it sounds like that might be a good fit

Don't know what you consider expensive but The Yorkshire Inn is good, about 2 minutes walk from Bangla Road, has a pool on the roof and it's about 1700 baht per night in high season if you book on Agoda.

Hey, if anyone is interested, there is still a very nice condo 1 bedroom, and bigger, and maybe smaller as well, in Bangkok, right near the bts, near onnut, pool, sauna, gym, party room, small roof top put put court, 18000bahts/month.

Internet connection is good so far.

let me know, we are already 2 professional poker player in the building, the price is very good for what it is...

contact me, it could be great to have other players.

If you are talking about getting a new tourist visa then here are the options I know about:

Kuala Lumpur is a more conservative city that has a few different cultures. The airplane here is the fastest I believe - but you're also going to lose an hour each way in a taxi because the Airport is so far from the City. I really liked the Indian food in this city. Not really sure what else to add but it is probably worth checking out at least once.

Singapore is a very developed and rich country. It is also quite expensive if you just want to stay in a hotel and take taxis... but you can do it cheaply by doing the train and hostels as well. There is also some night life stuff here but it isn't nearly as good as Thailand and I would not waste your time/money at it. This country also has pretty strict laws for getting a new Visa relative to the other options, so make sure you actually have the paper work here.

Phnom Penh really seemed like the wild west to me and was very interesting. It was also quite cheap and actually had pretty decent quality at the places I went to anyway. The night life here was also quite good. You can also get someone to take care of your visa for you for about 10 dollars. There is also live poker at a nice casino - there were quite a few interesting characters in the game there. Basically I think this is the best option by far but maybe the other ones are worth doing at least once. The only real down side is that the taxi ride from the airport takes 30 minutes... and a direct flight to/from chiang mai is a bit more expensive. Basically you will have to spend a bit extra on the air fare and spend a bit more time traveling but probably make up for the flight costs because everything is cheaper.

I just signed up with them recently. I havent started classes yet but my initial impression of them is that they have been very helpful and flexible so far dealing with me getting my ed visa. I did talk to them about missing classes if i were to leave the country or whatever reason and they said as long as i informed prior then its no problem, no charge. As long as the price is the same doesnt seem like it should be a problem to do 3month chiang mai, 3 month bangkok. why not just call them and ask?

sounds good, thanks for the info, i will definitely make the trip down to take a look. plan is to stay in chiangmai for a year from mid feb onwards, not sure if i would get bored hence would be great to have my options kept open.
thanks once again

additional qn: should there be different threads for different regions of thailand? e.g. bkk, cmx, phkt, etc. would be easier for people sourcing for info for sure.

Need some urgent help.

I will arrive in Thailand at the 3rd of February(BKK) and leave at the 15th.

Some of my questions have probably been asked before but I want to ask them since the answer most likely depends on favors like season etc.

1,My plan is to stay 2 days in BKK and then leave out for Phuket. I have no place to stay but already booked my flight. What should I do when I get out of the airport? How can I find a hotel. Need a secure place which is in centrum and that doesnt cost much and has Wlan. Will it be easy are there tourist infos all over the city or will I be in big trouble. I cant pay anything via internet since I reached my credit card limit so thats why I havent booked a place to stay.

2, What should I do in my 2 days in BKK ? I want to see the baby tigers and make an elephant tour and also see the real BKK(where the poor people live at the sewers)

3, Want to travel fast from BKK to Phuket? Can I buy tickets directly at the airport and will there be any problems since I havent booked and its high season?

4, When I arrive in Phuket I am planning on staying in Kata/Rawai or Nai haan. Without having a place to stay where should I look at? Should I go to patang or phuket city where there probably is more crowd and look for a tourist info or a real estate agent?

5, Since my friend canceled on the last day I will travel alone. To be honest I am a bit afraid of that. Any advice you can give me besides dont eating ratfood and not going into fights with shemales on yabaa ?

best regards
