I teach English a few hours a week. I should point out that I live in Laos, not Thailand, but the two are very similar. The job allows me to easily take care of all my visa issues (this will not be true in Thailand), is generally very easy, and is only 5 minutes from my house. It also pays decently at ~500 baht/hr + bonuses. I could pick up more hours if I wanted/needed more money.

It gets a little weird explaining to people that I don't want more than 6 or 9 hours per week because of "freelance writing." Money in general is an awkward subject and English teachers talk about it all the time.

If you don't have experience and/or solid qualifications, any job you get will probably make you want to kill yourself.
