I prefer to train barefoot but most places wont let you. Its messed up cause my trainers arent going to do anything if I drop a weight on my foot, also have better posture barefoot which is important when swinging weights around.

airport is ok for usd and euro i think, SuperRich (main office located across street from centralworld) will give the best rates on any currency exchange in thailand. If your exchanging smallish amounts then airport is fine, if you have like 5k then go to superrich.

5k in a month is plausible if you are travelling, sightseeing/doing activities and living nicely in general, although it is def on the high end. My first month in Thai I spent pretty close to that, although given I was paying 33k/month rent, travelled around a lot and drunk a lot. You can def live cheaper if you tried. Once you learn how to get value its a lot easier though.

certainly its possible to spend 5k in a month, but if the guys goal is to take a 2-3 month vacation on 3-5k and says he is pretty cheap he's not gonna be spending 5k in a month

Now if you're a single guy, striking out in your home country and looking for love here, this might be just the type of "headache" you're looking for. I know there are success stories. Many guys do find "love" here. Personally I wouldn't recommend it. It's a minefield, for obvious reasons.

To put it in perspective, you could have unprotected sex with a girl who you know 100% is infected with HIV and still your chance of contracting it is less than 1/1000 unless she is on her period or you popped a Viagra and rammed her bloody (and tore your own penis in the process). It's why intravenous drug users and gay men are the most likely to get infected. Anal sex is very messy. Now, if you're pulling your girls from go go bars. They have to do STD testing regularly, so the % of girls with HIV will be very low. HIV rates in freelancers is much higher.
