Yeah looks like good advice, just gonna correct him on 21day visa on arrival.
It's 30 days since Aug 1st 2013.

And I would actually also give Angeles a research instead of Manila for cheap living conditions, nightlife, internet and live poker. And only 2 hours to get to Manila.

Scuba diving spots I would recommend in Philippines is; Puerto Galera, Coron, Mabul, Malapasuca, Dumaguete (Apo island), Tubataha and Apo reef (Live aboard)

I made account to pinalove. I didn't expect getting 100 messages in couple of days.

Is it more like farang money for boom boom, scam white people site? Someone know some fancy scams? Not going to send money or meeting before seeing in webcam anyway (this weirdo k2d used to have photo of someone else).

Replying for all messages is pain in the ass - 1 in 10min. Even if only sending skype user. Is there more Philippines dating sites?

Dont reply to all messages just the ones you like, also be sure to check their location before replying, most will see you located in Manila and still msgs you from Cebu or some ****.

I wasn't aware they had changed the length of the tourist visa. I stay here under a permanent visa. Thanks for the correction, it'll be useful when my friends come to visit.

I'll agree with you on the diving spots, I'm not an avid diver but my diver friends always rave about Palawan when they come for a vacation. Puerto Galera is always mentioned.

I will avidly disagree about Angeles City though. It is cheap, but for good reason. The place is absolutely a ****hole where the lowest of the low (for foreigners) reside. No offence to the foreigners who live there, but you know this is true.

Accomodations are third world, the girls are third rate, and the live poker, well, let's just say that it doesn't hold a candle to Manila.

The absolute worst part about living in Angeles is that you definitely would be ill advised to make friends there. The people who I've encountered from or living in Angeles, are usually the kind of people who live on the streets of Pattaya with no way to return back to their home country.

It's hard to say I'm not biased against Angeles, but I think that this is definitely not supposed to be your first stop in the Philippines. However, different strokes for different folks, if a one-street sex town with burned out white guys is your idea of paradise, then Angeles is the place for you.

Well lets hope he pays back the money he has stolen from his so called friends in the o8 forum before he goes back to his business! He hasn't been on for a month coz he rolled.

He pm's some1 saying he's sick and couldn't play the next event and then no1 has heard anything. And it's odd that no1 knows his real name or have any contact with him. Very high chance is a roll rather than something happened to him.

Do you or anyone else know his real name?

You're better off kissing your $54 goodbye.

I've never understood how poker players can send money to a person who's name they don't even know.

The Nigerians should have targeted poker players instead of old grannies.

dont know his name, but considering that A) he printed money in those 08 sngs and B) he frequently stumbled out of card rooms in angeles in the middle of the night totally wasted alone i think you are definitely under repping the chances of something happening to him and him not "rolling" people

i really didnt know him to well but from what i did know i would definitely think its higher odds that one of the worst case scenarios happened and not that he ran off with peoples money

It's not just my money it's quite a few of us in the 08 forum and he is a well known reg there. I don't know if you are aware but selling/buying action is a big part of 2+2.

And the reason why it's generally safe to buy action from the 2+2 community is because rollers are taking seriously and in some cases great lengths are gone through to track them down and retrieve the money. It was about 800 bucks and one of the reasons the MP works is that there is no 'ah well say cheerio to your 50 bucks' attitude.

Look i'm not asking you whether you think he stole the money or not. It's pretty much odds on he's rolled. why you have double quoted rolled who knows lol.
It was pretty common knowledge in the O8 forum he didn't have much of an online BR and seemed to take shots with the last of his money.

So as i said, if anyone does actually know if anything has happened or his details then pls post in the negative feedback thread or pm me.

thanks

Also there is a possibility for 6 month tourist visa now aswell, costs are the same as doing 3 two month visas but it save you some time in immigration.

I dont really agree with you about Angeles, yeah Fields is packed with sextourists, but Angeles city and Mabalacat is really big. And most of the sexpats stick to Fields ave.

You can find great value nice apartments around, you have 4+ big malls with all you need. Alot of great restuarants. Alot of things that make life easier for foreigners, really easy to buy imported stuff.

Yeah the poker isnt as great as Manila, or even Cebu. But you have 5 pokerrooms and all run atleast a table of 25/50, on some great nights you can get really good action with the sexpats, they really dont know how to play. And can get some highstakes aswell. Highest ive seen is 1000/1000 PLO, but doesnt happen alot.

I intend to leave Germany in 6-12 month and would like to know how much I would have to put up for living expenses per month, when I don't need to live in the center of some town, directly. I need no more than 2 small rooms, a gym, a (super-)market and some place to go out to eat/drink within 3-4km (2-3 miles). Weed would be nice, too, but is not a must. I'd ofc prefer a place where at least one other grinder is living next to, so that my start is a bit easier. Would roughly 600$ per month be enough for living-expenses, if I just go out ~twice a month?
How are women over there? I know that many look amazing, but I'm not much into actual hookers... Are the many women who speak good english, I mean at least as good as I type here?

most everyone speaks reasonable english unless you go live in the province

$600 a month could be done but you wont like it, id say if you are trying to live as cheaply as possible but still ok for western standards and in your first time over here you need to at least budget $800 a month

what city you live in also is a big factor, and if you are willing to sign a long term lease

$800 wouldnt be enough in manila (i guess in theory it could be if you want to live in a sketchy place)

it would be hard but attainable in cebu (if you sign a lease)

its possible in angeles but you dont like hookers so not sure why u would stay in angeles

You will spend more in your first several months until you learn how to live with cheaper stuff (especially food).

Women are easy to find. The college educated ones speak fair English, and the ones from upper-class families speak perfect English.

Restricted drugs...be very careful.

$600 a month can be done when you've adjusted to spending less on food, if you find a place to rent for $300, which do exist but they're not in prime locations. Then $100 a month for electricity/water/internet (can't run aircon all the time), $200 a month for food/miscellaneous (either working-class food or cook it yourself). That's without 'going out' at all. All of this is better if you have roommate/s that contribute fairly.

I would suggest you be ready to spend $1200 a month for your first six months.

meh 1200 a month your first 6 months if you are trying to live cheap and not paying hookers? could even do manila cheaper then that

id say 1500 for your first month then like 800 a month after that, maybe 900 in manila (if you are trying to live cheaply)

I live in AC, and I think your post is spot on in regards to the area most people get to encounter when they arrive in AC. AC has got to have one of the highest concentration of ******s pr. sqm2. But at the same time I've met lots of pretty cool people, and AC isn't just that one long street filled with bars.

By the way, how did you get a permanent visa?

So how much are you spending per month in AC ? Your accomodation is just a very basic hotel room, right ?

SWF : Have you been to Davao ? If yes, what do you think about it ?

Yup, I know it's one of the functions available on 2+2. I wouldn't go so far as to say it's a big part of 2+2, but then again, I don't ask for stakes nor give them, so I'll defer to you on its importance here.

My "say goodbye to your 50" bucks attitude is just being realistic.

1. The OP has taken your money
2. The OP did not play any of the events
3. The OP has been impossible to contact
4. Nobody knows his real name LOL

Generally in life, this means you have been scammed. Chances of getting back money from a scammer (assuming they even have the capability to pay back) is very very very low.

I'm not being laissez faire about this, but you have to know when to lick your wounds and move on imho. I've given out stakes previously to friends, and I treat it just as a loan to any friend, I write it off the moment it leaves my hand. As an investment, staking is generally one of the worst investments you can make as:

1) You pay a huge premium off the top (markup)
2) Generally is a verbal agreement and difficult to enforce if anything goes wrong
3) Massive human factor (how does he feel that day of play)
4) All the skill in the world doesn't help you much to survive variance (ie. need massive bankroll)

And my personal favorite, why does the player need a stake in the first place? He's either a losing player overall, or such a degen/bad at money management that he's a massive risk to lose/steal the money anyways.

But then, do what you will with your money, it's none of my business.

But ya, better kiss that 54$ goodbye =)

There would be exceptions to the rule for people living in Angeles, but I would have to say that the majority of them are not ... pleasant people to be around. I have some great friends that come from Pattaya, but again, the majority living there are burned out and just scamming and waiting to die.

You would do far better to be hanging around Manila/Cebu/Davao (in some cases), as the people you meet would be far more likely to be a good influence on your life. Rather than an endless series of bar girls, strippers, and burned out expats, you might actually meet people with real jobs and speak better English than .. "wat? i dun understand, my nose is bleeding!"

I would post the picture of this one guy I know in Angeles who is a total toolbox, but I restrain myself as to not fall to his level. Now this one is a beauty if there ever was one lol.

The minimum salary in the Philippines is roughly 12,000 php a month, and that is in the National Capital Region. This wage is supposedly sufficient to feed a family of 6. In the provinces, it is far lower.

I also know people that can blow 10k usd a month, and they aren't getting much value either.

For a foreigner expat, I would say the following is likely:

Housing 18k
Transportation (2 taxis a day) 6k
Food (groceries, don't buy imported stuff) 5k
Eating out (twice a week, moderate price) 2.5k
Dates (once a week, movie and snack) 4k
Laundry, sundry, etc 3k
Utilities (power and water) 5k
Internet 1k
Phone 300

Total 44.8k or about 1000 usd.

Let me know if I forgot any item, sort of in a rush to get to a meeting.
