Ah yea, then you've checked most of the decent ones :-). But don't miss Lantaw in Busay its got a pretty nice view (like Tops, if you've went there), so go there during the evening time. To get there usually start off at JY square and find a motorbike to take you up there, or make a deal with a taxi (but usually they'll try to overprice insanely by asking for like 1k or something, although last time I negotiated to pay double the meter instead and thats a great deal, try that).

And another decent (but expensive) resto is Anzani, its an italian inspired resturant with pretty good food. Although expect to pay ~~european price for the dinner. Nice setting and nice place though.

I don't find the food disappointing in Cebu tbh, but nothing super special either. I try to eat home as much as possible these days though. (Not enough protein in resto dishes, so I always end up eating several ;-)).

I liked Coron a lot actually. Great nature and all around chill place to be for a vacation, tons of different excursions to do as well.

Didn't do any diving though, but I reaaaaallly should get into that again.. Was a few years ago since I dived now unfortunately..

But snorkling/island hopping/nature overall in Coron is world class for sure (comparing with central/south america here).

Stayed for 5 nights/6 days, did pretty much all decent stuff to do except diving and the Calauit trip (safari). Definitely try out kayaking if you go there, I didn't see/hear anyone else doing it but it was a ton of fun, although hard work :-D. And ended up getting the best frickin lunch I've ever had on some resort in the islands there.

If you're into diving, probably stay at Sea Dive Resort in Coron Town, seems like the place to be for that kind of thing.

If you guys want to know more about Coron (or Cebu) just hit me up with questions and I'll try to answer.

If you order coffee at a restaurant and they only serve you half a cup of coffee, do you pay half the price ?

Been living in AC for quite a while now, and me and my mate are considering checking out Cebu? Which area's are nice and safe, but relatively close to all the downtown action i.e. bars discos etc. Thanks!

Yea there are a few players staying in Club ultima atm, but think they're moving soon. I know at least 1 is leaving end of this month and he's got a pretty nice apartment you could probably take over. Club ultima is a good location if you like clubbing etc since it's just walking distance from Mango. Also has a nice pool area and good gym in the building etc.

Not sure which towers you're talking about? If you mean Club ultima thats not in Mactan and isn't close to the airport. Probably 30-40minutes or so.

It depends which kind of clubs/bars you like, if you want cheaper ones try to stay around Mango. If you want the "nicer ones" you'd want to stay in (or close to) IT park. Better value imo staying close to Mango in Club ultima. But there are decent options in IT park as well, and the area all around is nicer. Restos open during the night too etc, since it's a major callcenter location in Cebu.

I've never felt unsafe in either locations though, or at all in Cebu really.

AC poker update.
Was starting to think that double a was best place to play(since there is not much locals playing/talking themselves/colluding) but seems it is turning to Korean room now(which usually obv would not be bad think), many regs and seems they can speak quite freely themselves also(well dealers try to say english only but doesn't seems to have much effect and haven't seen any real penalty yet). Well still some fishes and seems the good/strict non-filipino manager 'Dave' isn't working there anymore either(saw him playing on wild aces couple of days ago though).

Wild aces and century poker on CAsino is trying to improve their english only rules but still some suspicius moments there... Maybe i should just starting to learn Tagalo. Or maybe i'm bit tilted coz just had quite big losing session.

Mine has been 100% stabile and no downtime since I got it a couple of months ago *Jinx*. But so was also the DSL I had in my last apartment (also PLDT), but DSL is way more hit and miss than fiber AFAIK.

I did however buy a UPS in case of brownouts/blackouts which obv will pay itself off quickly. (Paid only like 30USD and got fully functioning backup power that will easily last me through all hands in play across the tables in case of sudden disruption of power).

Don't be fooled that it's any healthier though, (the ones available in the stores here at least) are filled with a **** ton of sugar. If you want vitamin C go with pills instead. I take 1000mg vitamin C pills every morning along with a few other vitamins and omega 3.

Hey,

I'm currently in Bangkok but getting a bit bored. I'd like to just jump on a plane and see beaches and maybe casinos when I jump out...

From what I've gathered Cebu does have a casino and some nearby beaches, but being a lazy tourist I'd obviously prefer the casino (and other tourist necessities) to be ON the beach or at the very least within footmobile range.

Can you give any recommendations? Doesn't even have to be in Phils, for that matter. Thanks.
