I'm gonna throw out there that in general; when there are biggish tournaments you can almost always buy someone's ticket at a lower price than full buyin...plenty of satellite winners/VIPs/people with multiple tickets who sell them happily at 20-50% off. Just chat up regs, they'll know.

jesudason;
I would be surprised if you'll find that high games regularly in Cebu. I was there a year ago, went to Waterfront and we asked if they had a p50/100 game and they just looked at us like we were some sick degens. I might be wrong.
http://pokercebu.jigsy.com has some info and you might get an accurate answer posting in an appropriate section here at pokermanila, http://pokermanila.com/index.php/board,31.0.html

From what I hear most Cebu poker guys post at pocketfives and have their thread there (I can't navigate that site) so I wouldn't expect a great answer ITT.

Can anyone recommend the best way to fund a poker stars account from PHI? I am an American, and just have been cleared from PS.

I have an account with a local bank (RCBC), but apparently local banks cannot give checking accounts to foreigners. Any ideas? Also I have heard that in order to open a checking account with an international bank (Citi, HSBC) I need to have a savings account with them for a period of months. Can anyone comment/advise on these issues. Thank you.

Looks like is the best bet

http://www.pokerstars.com/poker/real-money/entropay/

If your struggling to get money on through Pokerstars you should be able to get close to the exchange rate if your dealing with cold hard cash.

With all due to respect, no matter how obvious it might be, I think people will appreciate keeping the PI thread troll free.

Spets; welcome to the country when you arrive. Correct me if I'm wrong, but you might have to travel a bit if you want to go to a nice beach. Likely Subic or Sabang/Puerto Galera or North Luzon/La Union. Those are within a few hours of travel. Not much in NCR. Cheers

Paul B delivers as always. Thanks a ton I will check it out. I might look 16 confirmed but have the body of a 67yrold..
Anecdotes schmaneckdotes, I'm about to ship a hotel hostess. Only issue is that she works in my hotel. And so I can't ship her because she'll get fired. I'll have to figure something out. With proper dental work and skin care. You are the nuts.

There should be one in Lapu Lapu also.

I believe it's another Metro or Waterfront, don't remember which. I've never been there, but there used to be an active poker room there.

I also have never been to Oriental. I've been to all 3 of the others Killah posted.

The action is pretty good at all of them. Most of the Filipino players are pretty weak, but the biggest fish are the Koreans. Almost all of them, are super spewy, and will stack off pretty light. They like to put chips in the pot, I'll say that.

I'd say the games are better at Diamond and Metro, soft games with more chips being thrown around. Although Metro is located in a somewhat dodgy area. Mandaue is pretty much considered to be, the most likely to be dangerous, area in urban Cebu. Actually I've walked around the streets near by Metro plenty of times at all times of the middle of the night and early daylight hours without any fear or sense of danger, and nothing ever happened to me, but, in theory anyway, it's a bad idea, especially the more money you have on you.

The games are ok at the Waterfront as well, except it's a bit more made up of older nit types that aren't going to give up as many chips.

Games don't run all day though, or even most of the day. Pretty much only from early evening - early morning. Maybe 6 p.m. - 4 a.m. , somewhere in that ballpark.

There is also more 10/20 (only about U.S. .25/.50,) than 25/50 (a little over U.S. .50/1.)

50/100 (USD $1.25/$2.50) is pretty rare, to my knowledge, and any higher than that is probably only going to happen if you can get into a private home game some how.
