DT: only 1 bb fed in USA.

Monte: PLing is not much less dependent on AAS, but FAR less dependent on growth hormone (very expensive) and various super unhealthy stimulants and fat burning drugs.

250k in prize money, not bad.

I think among males there's a very good chance it does. More accessible, less unhealthy on average, less dependent on PEDs, more immediately gratifying, can still look fairly big and muscular. Among females there's literally no chance; apparently at bodybuilding shows the number of bikini competitors routine dwarfs that number of all other competitors of either gender or any division by a pretty large amount.
The numbers the women are putting up are impressive af in that article.

I read a rant recently about how bikini is ruining shows because there are so many competitors now it takes forever to get them all, and the reason is it is a low effort and low dedication class compared to others. Basically, any good looking woman in decent shape with good genetics can diet down a bit and feel like they can take the stage. Even if they are not truly competitive enough to break the top 10 or 20 they can get social media attention and a fairly high reward vs effort.

There are noticeably more women doing PL and oly lifts at my globo-style gym over the last year or so. As more women begin lifting in general, I think, like men, there will be those who find they are well built for pl, excel at it, find strength gains come quicker than aesthetic gains and thus that path becomes the most attractive.

Anyone supplement with curcumin at all?

If you want curcumin, just take curcumin. Having it as part of a jumble of other stuff in a powder is going to result in a supplement that is overly expensive and probably not with the correct "dosage"

Yeah, I was looking at it as a stand-alone, but just wondering if anyone has anecdotal experience with it.

I have tried it via Meriva-SF as an ibuprofen alternative. About 1/2 of the time (n~=10 in past year or so), I ended up with no relief and ended up taking ibuprofen anyway. Though generally I am happy to throw my money away on supplements, I haven't seen compelling research on why to take it more than that.

I will rarely try a supplement, but in this instance I did, a while back.

I noticed no difference.

Not surprisingly, my bloodwork also showed no difference.

So you take it on occasion when you have pain from inflammation? I was looking at recommendations for taking it daily to reduce inflammation in general, not just associated with pain. The claims, as always with the new wonder sup/superfood, seem extreme. Supposed to help with everything from strength to digestion to depression.

I've taken it for joint pain for years - take anywhere from a full recommended does (4 pills in my case) down to 1 or 2 pills about 30 minutes prior to workout. With a decent warmup that usually does the trick. I'm old and very rarely take ibuprofen anymore.

The other claims (strength, digestion, depression)? No idea. But has worked as anti-inflammatory for me.

Yes, only as an anti-inflammatory. I use lambic for strength, digestion, and depression.

Just had my first NA beer in a week. You need to relax, not just thinking calories

I respond really well to ibuprofen for inflammation, got nothing on that front.

Then I had read that there was a positive impact on total and LDL cholesterol. Nothing.

I'd like to say it gets better around the 6 month mark, but...

The race for 2nd will be interesting! I'm loving the Jaguares (don't tell Mrs. Snitch) in super rugby. Hope they can get some momentum for Argentina going into the internationals. Fun fact: They just won their four tour games which has never been done by a NZ team or RSA team.

ps. "quad-nations" aka "rugby championship" these days.

The problem is you didn't consider the effect it would have on your gains anywhere near enough.

Yup.

Yeah, I rage-enjoyed the Jaguares comeback against the Blues, classic heart.
