It's really astonishing the attention they bring, much moreso than fraternal boy/girl twins like I was. Most people comment about how hard we have it, but jdock's situation (two differently aged babies, different clothes, diapers, schedules, foods, etc) sounds much, much more difficult to me. I guess what I'm trying to say is that you should fire multiple ropes if at all possible.

Evidently there are still things that are capable of riling me.

I won't really consider myself to have made "progress" until I approach and/or surpass my previous lifting numbers, though. I'm upset with myself that I borked my deadlifting yesterday, but 3x5 at a weight that's a decent fraction of my actual 5RM is probably a bit too much, so hopefully it's for the best and I can adjust as necessary. Benching isn't even really hard yet, but I like the volume; I think I stalled out at around 3x5x245 or so before my last sabbatical, so hopefully I can surpass that by a bit this time.

I only have one child. My wife's sister and my sister have both just had their second child, so the pressure is on. I think the main reason it hasn't (we haven't even tried) is because our attachment parenting strategy kind of makes it hard to raise a newborn, when the first is still nursing and sleeping in bed with the mom.

In hindsight I definitely would have loved a fraternal twin setup (one boy and one girl preferably) and get it over in one shot, but I guess the rope firing capacity wasn't there.

Oh, lol, I remembered that you had a child that was still nursing and a child that was around 2, but I sometimes forget that those two attributes are part of the same child. It does sound like it would be challenging to conceive while the child is eternally breastfeeding; luckily you've only got 3 more years of that or so, so there's that.

Why not bo.....never mind.

Fave part of recent exchange is the quintessential beta move of one's wife creating your account and spamming kitty pics until the shame takes over and you sack up.

J/k. QBs page is not the most alpha material. Neither is mine. Khalyns is but he got to post a pic of himself shirtless rubbing hundos all over dem teddies so it's hard to compete.

Yugo,

It's hard to be a married adult male that is presumably friended by a number of your wife's friends and maintain a fully alpha Facebook page. Cat pics still are kind of pathetic though, I'll agree, but we can't all have baller bimmer picks and what not.

I'm sure your page is generally fine. Mine isn't all that active either, I spend all my online quality posts on 2p2.

QB et al,

If you're still interested on the identical vs fraternal question, I posted some pictures of the minis in the Lounge pregnant wife thread, which yesterday's discussion reminded me to check for the first time in a while.

2/28

OHP
10x45, 7x75, 5x95, 3x115, 1x135
3x5x145

Squat
10x45, 5x95, 5x135, 3x165, 2x195
2x10x215, 10x215

Dips
3x8x+45

DB Row
3x10x90

DB Hammer Curl
2x12x35

Lower back still a little pumped from Wednesday, so I was extra careful during press and squat. Still plenty of room to keep getting 10 reps in my third squat set (I guess I shouldn't call them AMRAP because I'm cutting it off at 10), but this way is useful because it (so far) has kept me from grinding out extra reps with crappy form. Press was grindy, but I was stoked to get it; getting close to PR territory.

I went down not quite as far on dips, but still past parallel and it was easy (I probably could have done 3x10 in retrospect); I'll probably keep adding weight to these and alternating weeks of 3x5 and 3x8 for a while longer. DB row was definitely a PR, but we've established that no one cares about that. My gym only has 100 lb DBs, so once I get up to those I'll have to start adding reps I guess.

YMCA4lyfe; hard to beat it being a block and a half away from both my job and my house and having a squat rack that is hardly ever in use when I go.

Sacrifices must be made.

Gym I go to only goes to 75lbs DB.

on miniPics. Solid names chosen too. Not gonna work for my wife (way too common) but they definitely are very solid names from my POV.

Cute kids. We have a couple of the blue truck books too. My son is going through his truck/train phase (which seems super standard for boys in the 2-4 age group) so he like anything truck/train especially Thomas the Train stuff.

Also; i would go with identical twins. Same hair texture/color; eye/eyebrow shape and dimples. In my experience viewing fraternal siblings these are things that seem to differ; especially the hair.

Thanks guys.

QB,

Ours haven't really gotten into Thomas yet, mostly because they haven't been exposed; the wifeacore is not really into them watching TV, and with two of them they keep it busy enough so that it's never on when they're up.

They may well be identical and we just can differentiate them because of behavior as much as physical characteristics, we'll find out eventually when we get around to cheek swabbing.

Yugo,

Please tell me you're not going to allow hipster names for your kids; any pictures of future Addison/Madison/Atticus/Holden/etc will be grounds for a banning.

Correcting my log; first two squat sets were obviously 2x5.

fakebusto,

Going from 3 people reading my thread to 2 is going to be hard to recover from.

3/1

Chin Ladder (8 out of 11 reps in last set) = 63 in first ladder
LISS: 45 min at 4.2 = 3.13 miles
Chin Ladder (8 out of 10 reps in last set) = 53 in second ladder, 116 total (+2, PR)
6x30 pushups

It's essentially GSLP (2x5, 1xAMRAP) on the main lifts with some extra assistance work on MWF and LISS, chin ladders, and frequency pushups on TThSat, so:

M: bench or press, squat, pendlays, face pulls, cable rows, curls, skull crushers
W: bench or press, DL, front squats, weighted chins
F: bench or press, squat, weighted dips, db rows, curls

Started out pretty light on all the main lifts and am working my way back up slowly; seems to be going ok so far.

Did 11 reps on my AMRAP set at 220 on Wednesday, hopefully I can get that many at 225 on Monday. After that I'm microloading up by 2.5 lbs per session until I stall, which hopefully won't be for a while.

Thanks man, I hope I can keep progressing on squat and DL regularly this month; I think if I keep going without reset on squat, I get to 3x5x260, and no resets on the DL would get me to 3x3x325, both of which I'd be happy with.

I'm really enjoying the chin ladders, and all the extra volume seems to be translating over to my horizontal rowing. I'm trying to go really slow on pendlays, since I've tended to cheat on them in the past.

Good work on the OHPs brotha. I really do think this lift is inherently manlier than bp.

It's probably less good at actually developing a desirable physique, but its just cooler.

Thanks Evoken; it'd be pretty cool to get to a BW press, but I think I'm a ways away from that. I think 3x5x155 would get me pretty close to a 185 1RM, which would be a nice milestone.
