Buy a decent small chair at Target or something and then burn the papasan.
Buy three saddle stools for breakfast counter.
The only problem I see is that the TV is centered on the wall across from the couch and putting a chair in the corner would make the couch and TV not centered with respect to each other.
Nice work on this layout 27.

Took a few months off and came back with a vengeance!
I don't know how long I'll take off, but I hope to start again with the same intensity and motivation as last year.

For at least the next month,as Ripini has suggested 20 times now, I'm going to focus on my mental health. I want to do things I enjoy and I want to learn to cook better and learn a lot of new recipes and have fun cooking with my daughter. I'm going to enjoy playing softball, cooking with my daughter, and reading the next month. My next appointment with my therapist is on Monday and I'm going to change the discussion from my relationship to my deep seated issues and start working through those.

This will be my cooking thread while I work on my other issues and feel ready to get back to the weight loss.

Since you want to work on your mental health instead of losing weight, and I don't want to interfere in that, I will offer you until midnight tonight to cancel the July segment of our prop bet. You would then owe me $300 (4 months x $50, overall bet $100, 1 month draw, 1 month canceled).

Entirely up to you.

My sense is that she doesn't realize that she's doing this, at least not in most instances; it's not really a surprise that people would find it frustrating, though. One of the consequences of having a log that is this popular (or infamous) is that there are more responses to wade through and curation required. I'd suggest that taking the time to consider and reply to those posts that are well intentioned might cause some better retention of the advice therein, but, as I said, this is ultimately her log to do with as she wishes.
I am not ignoring advice on purpose. It's all too much information at once. I need to do one thing at a time. I can't even choose a freaking recipe from a list.

Will you continue your weighins?
07-06-2017 , 04:30 PM
I'll weigh in on the 1st. But, my main focus right now will be mental health and finding things I enjoy that can hopefully turn into good mental and physical health habits.

When is the bet supposed to be over?
07-06-2017 , 05:19 PM
This is the last month, ends Aug 1.
07-06-2017 , 05:21 PM
So I would be paying for July or getting a pass by conceeding? Sorry, but I've forgotten how long we have been doing this and how many months it was supposed to be.

You are aware that you don't get to choose a undertitle for me if you lose? That is the whole point of the bet.

Was that written in the Gentlemen's agreement?

You are aware that MLYLT is not a gentleman? I'm no fake lawyer but wouldn't that void the agreement?

I'm offering you a pass for July. We started Feb 1, with a 6 month bet. You lost Feb, we drew March, you lost April, May and June. You would lose the overall bet as well.

Or we can keep going, with $50 going to the winner of July, and you with a theoretical shot at the overall (if I lose 0 lbs in July, you would need to be sub-210 on Aug 1 to win the overall).

M,

Take the free $50 he's offering.

In tonight's game the shortstop was standing right on top of the bag trying to turn it and our base runner ran into him and the umps called it a double play for "interference" . Has anyone ever seen this happen? I haven't until tonight, just ridiculous.

We ended up losing by 2. I didn't hit for **** tonight, grounded out twice and popped up.... Ugh
I made a good play and threw a runner out at home, but only after I freaking missed the throw to first.

uhh yea, you cant plow into the fielders as the base runner.

why didnt he slide?

Don't know why he didn't slide, but the fielders can't block the baselines or the bases. If he was running home and hit the catcher and they dropped the ball, he would be safe.

As shortstop, when you turn 2, you field the ball and run through the inside of the bag touching the inside corner with your foot and while still in forward motion, not in the baseline, throw to first. You don't run and stand still with both feet on the bag and try to throw to first;you will naturally get plowed doing this and it's your own fault.

MLYLT,

you cannot interfere with a double play. especially when there's basically no reason not to slide other than to interfere.

Quote:
If, in the judgment of the umpire, a base runner willfully and deliberately interferes with a batted ball or a fielder in the act of fielding a batted ball with the obvious intent to break up a double play, the ball is dead. The umpire shall call the runner out for interference and also call out the batter-runner because of the action of his teammate.

Breaking up a double play has always been illegal. In effect, what Rule 6.01(j) does is to remove the “in the judgment of the umpire” part of that rule, replacing it with specific language defining a legal slide. According to the rule, a “bona fide slide” occurs when the runner:

• (1) begins his slide (i.e., makes contact with the ground) before reaching the base;
• (2) is able and attempts to reach the base with his hand or foot;
• (3) is able and attempts to remain on the base (except home plate) after completion of the slide; and
• (4) slides within reach of the base without changing his pathway for the purpose of initiating contact with a fielder.
there's no reason not to slide other than to interfere with the play, regardless of if that was what the runner was trying to do or not, it's super duper standard for the ump to call both runners out. even if there had been no contact he could have been called out without the slide if he interfered in the play. running into the fielder is really obviously obstruction of the double play

I'm interested in what you'd think if the situation were reversed - if you were the shortstop and the runner hit you, or the runner hit another teammate. would you think that's a normal play?
