Wife and I were just in Madrid/Toledo, Barc, Lyon, Paris. Would highly recommend all. Toledo is worth the trip since it's so close (half an hour by train) and is quite a distinctive city. Don't skip the touristy-sounding hop-on-off bus, as it gives you a great view of the city from outside the city, which lets you see how it's practically a fortress on a hill.

Madrid is more glamour and history, Barcelona style and design. I live in LA but the beaches in Barcelona are pretty sweet, as is the architecture. Well worth renting a bike to see the city from another view. Feel free to ask or PM questions about any of those locations.

Quick pro-tip note, as this tilted us greatly. In Madrid, you get free tapas at most tapa joints. They come with your drink(s). However, a few caveats. To get the tapa, you MUST order just the drinks first. They will bring your tapas with them. Afterwards you can order food. IF you order food with the drinks or before, they will not bring your freebies. Additionally, not all drinks qualify. Most alcohols do, as do some soft drinks. Coffee or juice does not in many places. The tapa usually isn't amazing or anything (chips, olives, toasted breads, ham, etc), but it's still a freebie you'd be missing out on. Wife and I kept getting this one wrong and irritated us to no end.

I'm sure KC/Weasel/Aidan and crew will enjoy this blog post greatly and may even reach sexual climax reading it?!
Pretty much echoes my thoughts on the LBBS, but I don't really share his hate for it in powerlifting. If you're a powerlifter, you 100% should be LBBSing - you'll definitely lift more weight. That's not me tho, and I wouldn't really recommend it to anyone who wasn't thinking of getting into competitive powerlifting.

If you're just exercising, does it really matter what style you choose? Seems like a tiny rock compared to actually squatting.

DT,
unfortunately I haven't been to the southwest of France much except a trip to Barcelona some years back so I'm not much help. I did eat some delicious tapas though, a google search for "tapas barcelona" will probably help you find the restaurant

And oh, familia sagrada and gaudi park are both worth visiting if you're into arts and stuff.

That "article" was ****. Dude talks about how bad one thing is, spends 5% of the time talking about why, then talks about how superior the alternative is, and gives spends 1% of the time explaining why.

For those of you who have never visited nattyornot here is the entire website:

IS THIS GUY NATURAL

No. Because this person won an Olympia title before steroids and had a worse physique. Therefore, science. Thanks for the ad revenue you ****ing chump.

I'm fine with publicly executing anyone who brings up toddler squats as an argument for hbbs as long as we make sure the bullet also takes out anyone who has ever used the "lbbs squat is superior because that's how cavemen pooped. Therefore, science."

Lol yea what a **** article. I didn't give it TOO in depth a read, but I'm gonna be more inclined to waste my time on a guy like Greg Nuckols who's site is name "strength theory" (or whatever it is) than jealous mcfagpants who wastes his time on speculating other peoples' drug use on "natty or not! OMG!".com.

KC probably said it best at one point in time talking about how squatting is squatting and doesn't matter much.

And honestly, for me, I have trouble with depth on high bar and worry more about my knees.

Plan on a cut before and after, you'll probably find yourself eating at an almost GOMAD-like surplus while there. So many great food options.
Cool. I do like art, but only really had plans for Dali stuff and that is Barcelona too.

As someone who has spent a lot of time around toddlers the last few years I think you guys aren't giving this anecdote the credit it deserves. Do you know what a toddler cam do at the bottom of their squat? Whatever the duck they want, because it is a highly mobile, functional position. IF I set myself up lie I was doing a wide stance low bar squat out of a monolith do you know what I could do from that position? Nothing. Because it is a lame, sucky position no **** was ever meant to be in.

Also, Evo I think you of all people will appreciate what you can learn about yourself and humanity in general spending time around infants/toddlers for various reasons.

At the risk of being trolled, toddlers have ****ing ******edly huge heads that work as a counterweight to keep their COG over midfoot even with a very upright torso.

Doug, you should visit a third world country sometime. All the adults can squat like this too because they never stopped, probably because they can't afford chairs or toilets.

why does everyone bring up wide, monolift squatters and geared squatters when saying how high low bar squatters squat and how much they good morning the weight. Like that is a small portion of competitive low bar squatters. I mean just look at IPF worlds to see people squatting correctly low bar and it is nothing like steve goggins or people like that.

Yeah the baby arguement is ******ed. Not only are their heads massive relative to their bodies (acts as counterweight) but the most important reason is leg length.

Babies are all torso, tiny legs. Basically the way freddbird is built. That's how all babies are. Fack yeah I would be a squatting champion too if my torso 2x my femurs.

And also I was trolling about my boy fakeb being on drugs.

The notnatty guy has lost his mind. In one article he says Christian Guzman is definitely natty. This is true, I believe it. But Christian also bench presses 315+ at 170 bodyweight. So his other article implies that he is not natty or genetic freak.

He has lost his mind. Plenty of humans can bench 300 at 170 natty, if they put the effort. I mean obviously not Yugoslavian but plenty around here. Saw. EV. Aidan. Shiet even I can do it. Get yours bets in. I will bench 300 at 170, natty. Weasel trains me. I get 15 months. Who wants action? Obviously crickets, and I would basically be 40 by the time I did it. Anyways point is notnatty.com whoever he is has lost his mind. Still like the site though but I am not going to turn super pessimistic because of the dude. We continue on the natty light to preserve big balls and never have limpdick. At the first signs of limpdick of course we all join the road less traveled, for the love of ragingboner preservation. We will have smaller balls, but ragingboner worth the sacrifice.

Ok. I yield. Baby analogy dumb. Still, every time I went to a third world country all he poor people are sitting around in the dirt chilling comfortably at the bottom of a ATG BW squat position similar to how DT looked at the bottom his high bar squats before he broke his back.

Also, plenty of lbbs proponents have massive quads in addition to hams/gloots.

I now feel stupider for having read the article, and even stupider for having engaged.

Not as stupid for opening a bag of whey and it turning out to be mass gainer instead ffffuuuuuuuuu

bros, other than semen and urine, what is the best* thing to drink/eat before/after/during lots of cardio?

* I don't know what "best" means. I don't even know what (if any) bad things doing lots of cardio does to you. I was just going to get some powdered gatorade to drink after exercising because that's what people do on tv.

Curious too, but for full disclosure I'm currently under the impression it doesn't matter much. It's not like you need protein like you do for lifting to maximize MPS. If the cardio is low intensity enough you should be using fat, but I guess some types maybe having some carbs is good for energy? Afterwards, unless doing something else soon (eat carbs), then I can't imagine post-workout matters at all.
