Yeah lol at being scared to fail a squat. Fail the rep? Slowly descend until the bar rests on the safety pins. I did **** myself over the first time I failed a squat because I set the pins suuuuuuuper low and couldn't simply lower it onto the pins.
BtM, plz join with testing/videoing 1RMs, but you confirmed you are already in the 1k club so your lifts won't count unless you get close to 1300.
Suck up your pride and drop back to 1 plate. You can't just drop to parallel after a lifetime of half squats. You'll have to spend a few months working your way back up, but with perseverance and nomzies, you should be back up to 1.5 plates in a few years.
