325x5 is pretty legit for a 160lb dude.

Do you have any desire to grow? just curious.

I mean, for all the **** we give fakebusto, dude is legit pretty strong: 2x bw DL for reps, 1.5x bw squat for reps, 1.6+x bw bench for a 1RM . . . an inspiration to all of us jellydick lifters for sure.

If you'd asked me back in April, I'd have said hell no. I just wanted to get lean. But now? Maybe. I figured I would see what size and strength my current programming (TM+SS-style squats) would give me over the next year. Do you recommend looking at any alternate programming to achieve yokedness?

In before Monte says GSLP ldo

just do what you're gonna do. but at some point, you gotta actually gain some weight to get bigger and stronger. it's fine if you don't want to, but if you do, it might mean becoming a chubbier 175 before you're a ripped 170.

fakebusto,

Pretty sure you're going to have to switch to TM squats soon (this will require you actually reading about the program though). It's a volume/intensity split, as with the rest of TM, so it shouldn't be too much of an adjustment, other than the fact that you'd only be squatting twice.

KC,

Okay, I see what you mean. I think I'm eating at a slight surplus now. I thought I was before, but I didn't realize how many calories heavy squatting would burn. I'll know after tracking my waist/weight for a few weeks.

My current plan is to see how far I can go at this slight surplus. I know there will come a time where my gains will slow/stall and I might need to do as you say and go through a heavier bulk/cut cycle. I figure there's no need to think about that until I first pick all of this low hanging fruit. Then I'll reassess and see if that's the path I want. The idea of getting big and strong is kind of new to me. I've always been a tinybro. The thought of being anything else always seemed like a pipe dream.

Monte,

TY. You are probably right. SS advancement moves so quickly that even if I made it into the upper 200s/low 300s, it would occur in a pretty short amount of time, and I find it mind bottling to think I could advance to there and beyond without needing to transition to TM. But who knows? Maybe there is a 4 plate squat waiting inside FakeB.

Eff you saw and eff this Juggernaut fellow. DHEL?

No more towel from now on, unless I'm using it to spread my blood and sweat evenly across the bar.

Since I will have limited gym access the next couple of weeks, I think I'll adjust my programming a bit until back home.

Squat 2x a week 5rx3s, increase 5lbs each time
Bench 2x a week, with day 1: volume 5x5, day 2: intensityx5. So basically TM, but cutting out the middle OHP day.

Would it be smart/okay/dumb to go to GSLP style squats instead for this period?

If I can get in on a third day, I'll deadlift heavy 5 reps and look to increase 10lbs each week.

Obv random accessory and bro stuff spread throughout.

Just take time off bro. That's how they do it here in H&F.
You been working hard. Two weeks off would be good for you. You won't get weaker. Nobody will catch up to your lifts. Time off is good. These guys even deload when they only training upperbody. Exercising is just so CNS draining that time off is great. Enjoy yourself. Drink some alcohol also and go on a minicut.

Could I get a non-fat person's opinion?

Spoiler:
loco. Not sure about Snitch.

I don't see any sense in a mini-cut. I have put on MAYBE .5lb since I came in at bodpod verified 9%bf. Do I really want to cut beneath that? Could be the perfect time for a monster bulk imo

loco,

lol

fakebusto,

That plan seems fine to me.

Hopefully I'll be well enough that I can get into the gym on Thursday and Friday, but if that doesn't happen, I'll have a two and a half week break in lifting. Devastating timing.

ETA: loco is obviously trolling you.

I'll kick in a few bucks, and I'll double it if you use your dog as the pad for the bar.

11/19
Two servings of Great Nuts for pre workout meal

Bench
45x5x2
135x5
175x3
195x2
220x1
220x5x5
185x5 xtra slow

Squat
45x5x2
135x5
175x3
195x2x2
225x1
245x5x3
195x5

This was almost easy. Form corrections made a world of difference. Did all reps pretty slow. Now feeling solid glute/ham activation. Was gonna go for extra reps on the last 245 set, but the last rep was hard as fack so called it a day. 250 next time. All hail squats!

RDL

Uploading new RDL video.

Chins neutral grip
Bwx5
+45x5x2

+45 way too easy. +50 surprisingly easy too but let's not get crazy just yet.
