Many congrats on the weight loss. Tbh I don't know how you do it. When I'm putting in decent mileage I'm just so ****ing hungry all the the time.

Great stuff in here (other than the running, obv). Keep it up, very impressive consistency.

Like most of us, you need to take the advice we'd give anyone other than ourselves and take a few extra days off if you need some extra recovery, like with your foot.

Some days are easier than others...obviously my diet isn't the best but I think because I don't feel like I'm "on a diet" and depriving myself of things I enjoy eating it makes it much easier.

Thanks! The foot is feeling much better but I am taking Saturday and Sunday off...seems like the new shoes are helping also.

Finished in 2:09:34...slower than I wanted but still a personal best. Weather held off but it was warmer than what I've been running in most of the time lately. I had to slow down the last half of the race, especially the last 3 miles. I finished strong though and I'm happy with the result! Full report later...

Day 217

Race day!! We caught a break with the weather and the thunderstorms that were forecast the night before held off. It was in the high 60s but not very humid starting out. The race took place at the Naval Air Station in Pensacola, a very cool place to run and a great course!

My plan was to start with a few sub 9:30 miles and see how I felt from there. Looking back now my goal was just a little too aggressive. The first 3 miles or so felt ok but by miles 4 and 5 I was struggling to maintain my pace. I knew if I didn't back off things could go badly so the last half of the race I got progressively slower.

Once I got past mile 9 I was really struggling. The only hills on the course were in the last 3 miles...they weren't bad at all but just came at the wrong time. I did finish pretty strong at the end when I saw that I was close to not breaking 2:10. I'll be able to see the official results tomorrow but I finished in 2:09:33 for a 9:53 pace.

I'm very happy with the result, it's the 6th race in a row I've set a new PR. I felt a little light headed after but recovered quickly. My legs aren't sore so I'll be back at it Monday with an easy run.
