One positive of this Reebok deal is that Jesus will no longer be able to sponsor fighters.

Yea watching the 187 embedded, Vitor not looking nearly as ripped as he was in that picture.

Also mad respect to Rumble for eating a freaking enchilada during fight weak. Does that count as a diuretic?

It was a judge that overruled the lifetime ban, the NSAC will have to set a new punishment. I'd guess the total inconsistency on the part of the AC was a factor.

This ****ing kid.. this kid misreads my Tweet thinking I'm gonna fight him, that's just the type of animal he is. The Twitter access in the Netherlands was literally shut DOWN after that Tweet.

so apparently a reporter asked ronda if she could beat floyd in a fight and she said something like 'well, i never say i can't beat anyone, though i doubt we'd ever fight unless we were dating'. good burn.

<casual fan>if you put floyd and ronda in the octagon for 3 rounds, i assume rousey wins comfortably?</casual fan>

maybe 2 million wolf tickets
05-21-2015 , 01:37 AM
Ronda wins in the cage. Floyd wins in the street.
05-21-2015 , 01:45 AM
if the fight is "announced" and floyd has a mini mma training camp he probably always beats ronda
05-21-2015 , 04:03 AM
Floyd just runs circles around Ronda in the cage. Ronda has a better chance in a boxing ring where she might trap Floyd on the ropes and take him down

Rogan just had Dos Anjos' strength trainer, who is a Marinovich protege. Great interview that's focused on MMA and training. As somebody who just auto-assumed Rafael was juiced, his Pettis performance makes much more sense now that I know he's basically been training with a Marinovich. I don't understand why more people like Curson who clearly approach strength and conditioning with a scientific mindset aren't utilized by guys pulling millions. Instead, you have somebody like Cain using this chuckle-head.

What makes you say he's any more scientific than other S&C coaches? Also I don't get jumping from assuming juiced --> makes sense he's natural bc he's 'basically training w/ a Marinovich'

In 187 OOC test results I've seen, all clean, one interesting thing is Belfort's testosterone level was actually higher than Weidman's.

No actual numbers yet, which is really weak.

On 3/16, @vitorbelfort had 12 ng/mL t-level and 1.7 T/E ratio. On 4/28, he had 5 ng/mL and 1.5.

Break it down for us C_C

12 = 1200 and 5 = 500 obv
05-21-2015 , 06:57 PM
12 is really really high, 5 is normal.
05-21-2015 , 07:24 PM
12 is pretty high, 8-9 is generally regarded as great for a healthy male in his 30s, with 13 being the ceiling. Its not out of the question for a guy to have 12, but its REALLY unlikely! Esp at his age and his likely training regimen.

Belfort has probably never been clean in his entire career. I doubt he'd start now.

My buddy trains with one of his former coaches from Brazil. Said he's been on steroids since HS. No shock there. He was so yoked against Wandy.
05-21-2015 , 08:25 PM
Apparently The Chris has Jones level low T levels

On 3/30, @ChrisWeidmanUFC had 3.7 ng/mL t-level. .092 T/E. On 4/27, he had 3.7 ng/mL again and .13 T/E.

The Marinovich brothers are famous for their training methods success, and they're based on Russian scientific studies from the 70's and 80's, so with Nick being a protoge of theirs and saying that his methods are 80% what he learned from Marv, I jokingly said he's basically a Marinovich. However, it's mostly the way he explains why he's in favor of something and against another. When somebody specifies the actul name of a muscle(s), and the physiological reaction to a movement as the basis for why he's against a certain training method, I just tag that as more science-y than a trainer telling you to do something because it actuates your hips. I mean, just look at that Cain video with his trainer. It's atrocious. There's another one of him doing something gorilla **** with the worlds largest kettlebell.

Obviously, I really don't know what I'm talking about, but I'm good at sifting through opinions to arrive at my own, and I think it's safe to say that modern athletics in general are only recently getting on board with a more intellectual and scientifically educated approach to workout regimes, and MMA appears to be even a bit behind the ball on that (Steve Maxwell and Ryan Parsons go into that a bit). But even the major sports have oddities. Just look at Albert Pujols' workout routine. Smith machine squats, wtf? And he's pulling 100's of millions of dollars.

Regarding the juicing comment, I initially was suspect of his performance against Pettis because he was noticeably faster, and had way better cardio than I'd ever seen him before (he was going hard even in the 5th), but the Marinovich's training methods are lauded for getting atheltes into a freak type of condition, so hearing RDJ has been using that style for a while now made his Pettis performance more understandable. BJ Penn, for example, was training with Marv when he moved back down to LW and was looking better then he's ever had in his career. Then he stopped, and the Frankie era took over.

Nick goes into it in better detail. It's really a nicely informative podcast. Having said all that, though, I havent done any reading myself on these subjects, so it's entirely possible this guy is no better than another flavor of training, but I've really never heard anything negative about Marinovich's methods other than it may be too mentally taxing.
