damn, that sucks. I recently introduced my son (getting ready to turn 5) to mario kart wii a few weeks ago and he loves it. That led to me picking it back up a few times since then and playing some online races. sucks that i wont be able to continue.

I am def impressed by the gamepad and agree that I wish there were more games

SMB 3d world is way good and I'm hoping smash will be good too. Haven't really had a chance to play DKC tropical freeze much but I hear that's fun as well

It's a shame that there isn't much third party support but honestly I would prob play them on my ps4 anyway.

I miss the days when they worked with Rare I wish they would find another second party dev like that again

I've got that game on Wii, it's pretty old. Also gets boring after about 10 mins.

Yeah it was. It got some press when it came out because of the trailer. A friend of mine worked at a franchised electronics store and the chain announced they were stopping selling video games. So all the stores had crazy sales and got rid of all their stock. About 4 months later he found a small box full of Nintendo points. He asked his manager what to do, the manager said he didn't care what he did with them so he brought them to my place and I bought pretty much every single game on wiiware and a **** load of VC. Muscle March was the first game we tried. That was a good day.

Does anyone know what the Japanese fascination with black men with chicks in their hair is all about?

I'm presuming it is a thing and that guy in Muscle March isn't a pop culture reference to the guy from Final Fantasy 13 Sazh.

Muscle March came out before FF13, so maybe it's the other way around?

Halo 5: Guardians announced for 2015.

And then it looks like they are remastering Halo 1-4 this year?

I just unearthed my 360 and nhl 14 for the first time in I can't remember! Of course no gold :P. If anyone could toss me a 1 month or the like, it would be greatly appreciated!

I don't expect to be appreciated for this haha, but I'm itching to play a little versus. I'm sure some of you know what I mean!

thanks 2p2, cheers!

I need a game that I can play at work. Managing a Dairy Bar for the Summer and obviously there's a bunch of down time on crappy days. Need something slow paced/turn based so I can do a few actions between checking for customers. Been playing Civ 5 but I'm finally at the point where I'm bored of it.

Any suggestions?

EU4 is technically real-time but plays out more like a turn-based game. You can pause at any time to make decisions.

King of the Dragon Pass is cool and unique. I also still feel Civ 4 > Civ 5.

EU4 is the game you play when you graduate from civ

King of the Dragon Pass is pretty sweet though.

So having your thread deleted didn't answer your question as to whether you can do that or not? Are you any good at nhl14? I'll play you though. My sn is k1llerk1ll with the number 1 instead of I's.

Nice sales-figures retrospective from the creator of InFlux a year after its release. Touches on minor bundle sales, humble store, amazon, and the Greenlight process.

Thanks, good read.

Without Steam, GOG was the only shot the game really had of making money any time soon, and it needed to, because I was out of rent money. We needed to ship on GOG. So when GOG told me they’d refuse to sell the game for any amount higher than ten bucks, I had to say “Welp, guess it’s ten bucks”. I’m still not happy about it. I don’t think it’s their place to strongarm devs on price, as they’re apparently still doing. I don’t want to give them too ****ty a report card, as they’ve been perfectly pleasant to deal with generally, but this is a policy they really need to take another look at.
Coming at GOG like that doesn't make me feel very bad for him though. GOG is a platform that sells lots of old games for really cheap, some newer AAA releases for $20-$30, and indie games for <=$10. If he thinks he's a special and unique snowflake who got strong-armed into selling his game for $10 on GOG then he's free to **** off and sell his game elsewhere, but as he admitted he was the one who desperately needed to start making sales and they provide the marketplace for him to do so.

GOG has built a brand (a very good one) around a certain pricing model. They are not Steam where any random game gets a green light to post a ****ty early alpha version for $30.

I thought this was interesting and something that has to be fairly frustrating for the developers.

Quote:
It’s possible to blow your entire marketing wad on Greenlight votes, and have nothing left over to accumulate actual sales with, months later, when your game’s released, but everybody’s forgotten about it. Steam also does nothing to notify yes-voters that your game has been Greenlit, and you have no way to get a message out to those users. You just have to hope they stumble across it again. Spoilers: probably they won’t.
I know that users can go to the Greenlight section and look at games they've voted for, but if you have voted for dozens of different games, things can get muddled and you may not remember a cool game you were really interested in which has subsequently been released. I occasionally go to the section to flip through many different games and give a 'yes' vote to those I think have promise because it is such an important step for indie developers to finally get greenlit. The ability for the developers to more easily interact with those who have given them a 'yes' vote could really be helpful in driving interest and sales once the game has been approved.

It's funny reading that opening paragraph because pretty much everything he went through is exactly what I'm going through right now. I'm from the same state and did a games design degree I now regret. I'm on the same NEIS program and we applied for the same funding. It's not uncommon at all though, the indie scene here is huge.

Yeah I agree with this. GOG's model isn't exactly a secret so I'm not sure why he was surprised. They're not going to make a special case for someone releasing a game that's had pretty much no attention.

The greenlight stuff was interesting but isn't really going to be relevant for very long when Steam becomes the app store for PC. Greenlight has been an absolute disaster since it launched in my opinion. Valve have done a lot of stupid **** lately.
