how do I go about deciding which nodes benefit me the most? I'm running the build above.

i.e. since I bought Terminus Est my dmg is wtf amazing, my resis capped and dmg reduction at nice 65%-ish, however I got only 2k life so when there's a lot of heat I feel like there's a risk of dying, especially as I'm about to approach Domins on cruel and those areas are intense.

so the thing I should do imo is swapping some my dmg nodes for the big circle of life near scion start. but I don't know if I should get rid of i.e Berserking nodes or Wrecking Ball or what.

Jackitos: It's worth reading the thread from when 1.0.0 came out as there've been a few tips posts.

mash: Not sure if you're already doing it, but having all your health flasks being seething is a huge huge help. When I realised that I suddenly got a lot further in the game.

As for the passive tree, agree you have too many damage nodes at the moment. Not sure it matters much which you lose - once you are past Dominus you can either re-balance for damage or for life depending on how you do.

Also, whats this nemesis and domination thing? Just create standard?

Nemesis is the equivalent of Hardcore. If you die you respawn in Standard mode. When the ladder season ends it'll stay in Hardcore, but if you die, you still go to Standard.

Domination is just a softcore ladder that will eventually end and then your character goes to Standard.

Play Nemesis.

Try post 827 onwards.

If you die in hardcore you enter softcore mode with the same gear (your stash stays in HC), so there's no real reason to not play hardcore. Nemesis just started so it makes more sense to go there.

Turn all the graphics all the way down?

I did some thing to a config file that makes landscapes even lower quality than you can reach through the options because it makes load times faster. Maybe someone in the thread remembers what it is.

I have the settings all the way down. I made the mistake of trying in a group the first time and snap went down to 15% HP before I could do anything and had to quit real quick.

I hate/love you all, downloaded this over the weekend and can all my free time disappearing.

Two quick questions:

I am nearing the end of Act 2 - I am trying to avoid any boss battle spoilers to add more fun to the HC experience. Are there any boss fights where I can not put a portal done to leave if things get too hectic?

When the Nemesis League finishes, I understand that my character goes to standard HC. When they announce a new League can I enter that with the same character or are Leagues only open to new characters?

Bonus question - what is happening in relation to PvP?

PvP - join in town act 2. You have to start fresh in every league/ladder whatever you want to call it. Pretty awesome b/c the overall HC economy is F'd.

Just got to act 2 with help from IFX and f0x.

I'm level 15, I still don't quite understand the currency and what not, and what constitutes a good item or the ginormous skill tree. I'm just following the kripp spectral throw ranger.

Just got spectral throw gem, and I think i finished the first 2h mastery part of the skill tree.

Just lost my favorite character to cruel piety, and it was so sad. I had 75% fire and lightning resist, only 15% cold resist. I set it up this way because my plan was to just melee stun her to death in her fire form anyways. Was going well and her health was plummeting, then she ran on an ice portal and blasted the **** out of me. I don't know what I was thinking.

Have a couple other nemesis characters but this was the only one I was really having fun on.

You should be able to drop a portal anywhere - I have not run into a situation, yet, where I could not. Feels dirty doing it in a boss fight, but there ya go.

When entering a new league, you have to create a new character within that league. No transfers of existing characters.

I think they design the boss fights to assume you can portal away. They don't want you to die all the time, just some of the time - if they calibrate death rates wrong then they break the economy either way.
