I got the message as I was playing a game. I'm up for anything. I'm only staying up for another hour or so. I'm on the midnight shift this week.

AAA is eating me alive.

ok last question before I head out for the day and stop spamming this thread. Before I played the first RTTS game, I did a training thing where I was in the field and they hit me 15 balls which I had to field and make the correct play to improve my stats. Can I still do those within the season? It was fun, and now when I go to training, it just lets me spend the points I've earned on different categories.

See my long post about training.

Basically, save your training points for when you need to do your top 2 or 3 achievements.

Anytime blue meets red on your schedule is when you'll have a training session. They only stick around for 1 day so you'll have to do them when they offer it.

During your training you gain skill points towards whatever your working on, which are automatically put into your stats. You see that as the bars increase.

This game is starting to get ridiculous. I can't ****ing get a hit in AAA. Everytime I hit the ball it goes foul or it goes DIRECTLY at someone. And of course, the outfielders can do somersaults and do over the head catches while in full sprint or dive from 10 feet away and catch the ball. I'm starting to get pissed.

I'm not going to be able to complete my goals because I'm not scoring enough training points per game to work on the increased requirements.

And **** this watch every first pitch of the game. It's really getting old now.

I'd always walk up to "Got your money" by ODB but you've inspired me to change.

This game is putting me on massive tilt now. I can't seem to hit for **** at the beginning in AA despite the fact that I control the strike zone quite well. I just can never hit the ball hard and when I do some superhero outfielder makes a ******ed play on it. Sigh.

Haha, that's exactly what is happening to me in AAA. I'm currently like .220 with 4 HRs at the end of July in my second season. I don't know if I was just tired and in a slump, but I am terrible. They should send me back to AA. I'm not scoring enough training points to keep me competitive. I ended up not doing any achievement goals for my last set so that I could save them for the next.

i don't even care about the goals right now in my first year. It looks like you don't get bonus stats or training points for hitting the goals, you just get moved up to AAA .

I'd rather spend my points to improve my defense and speed rather than have to spend 200 TP on LHP contact
MLB The Show 10 Quote

At first it usually only takes maybe 40 TP to get the checkmark. The TP come from what you do in game and the attribute goals can be increased through your training.

You have to use the training points to increase your attributes. That is really the only way you're going to get better.

so i finished my first season at AA as an 18 year old 2nd baseman

My speed is at 57 now, and contacts at 51, defensive ones all at 45ish, everything else is garbage.

My team, the San Antonio Missions made the playoffs on the last game of the season, then won the semi's 3-1 and the final 3-1

in the series clinching game, had my best game ever, 3-5; 2 doubles, 4 RBI, 1SB, 2R

for the regular seaons

AB 301
AVE .267
2B 10
3B 1
HR 0
RBI 29
SB 5
Error 12

about 80 some GP

I figure that my guy is 18 now, by the time i'm 24, ill be in the show

If you keep playing well and spending training points as you should, you'll probably make it to the show before you're 24.

The HRs will start to trickle in. Just don't be like me and start to suck once you get to AAA and put your career in jeopardy. haha

I have 4 HRs in my 2nd season, but I had 3 in AA before I got called up so overall I have 7 HRs.

I'm not even trying for HRs though, so I'm not worried. I did make it to the warning track in straight away left, like 350ish

and I crushed this ball that just curved foul down the 3rd base line, that had HR distance.

I think I'm going to put most of my Power points vs. righties, and just be a contact hitter vs. lefties.

I just threw 24 out there, I have no need to zoom up to the majors.

I fully expect to be the starting 2B for the San Antonio Mission for the whole of year two. In the third year I hope to make it to the AAA level.

I don't think you should really look at it like a "power vs rh" "contact vs lh".

Your achievement goals usually say contact vs lhp, at least they do for me. The contact attributes will lead the power. By putting training points into attributes that aren't either in correlation to your achievement goals or to stabilize the attribute are just plain wasted, imo.

I guess it depends on how you want to proceed with your player.

And I also want to add that I don't try for HRs either. I rarely ever use the Power swing. All of my HRs have just been by using the contact swing and getting good wood on it.

Doh! Was doing bad in AAA, hitting like .222 5 HRs, 21RBIs, got sent back to AA.

Just finished my 2nd season. Went back to AA, started doing above average and then got called back to AAA because a player in the majors got hurt. Finished out the season in AAA pretty horribly.

Just signed a 1 yr deal with the Marlins for AA starter, 120,000.

Started my first RTTS on 10. Bought 09 with the intention of getting good enough so I don't suck by the time 10 came out. Didn't really happen.

Got drafted by the Red Sox as bench 3rd baseman, eventually broke into AA starter. Had a good season, finished around .320 at the end of the season, with 5 HR's and won the conference with about 12 RBI's and a postseason avg of I think abut .400

Everythings coming up Milhouse, and get the call up to AAA as a bench player. The day before the first game of the season I get sent back down to AA again. Apparently my game hasn't been up to par, and I need to figure it out or get a new career path. FML.

One thing that does bug me - if the organisation seemingly always want me to improve my contact against LHP, why did they put me in batting practise with RHP's EVERY SINGLE TIME?

What do people think is better...

In The Show 09 I was drafted by the Marlins and got insta-called up to AAA due to an injury and never actually played a game in AA, and got up to the majors within a couple of seasons. It sucked though as the overall teams record was absolutely junk. I wasn't really good enough either but I was better than the rest within the organisation. It also felt like we never won a game, and that I hardly ever moved from the base that I hit to as everyone else just struck out.

In my new game in The Show 10 I was drafted by the red sox, and I'm currently the 4th best third baseman in AA, however I'm also only the 4th best third baseman in the red sox setup. It's a lot harder to progress but I feel like my player is improving at a huge rate. In the post-season my player crushed and got over 550 training points.
It's gonna be hella harder to progress though. Looking at their ridiculous setup it looks pretty inlikely i'm going to be able to break anywhere into their majors side.

Should i just spend a few seasons training up my player with an awesome team, and then look to get a trade to a lower rep MLB team?

at least you should get to play everyday. i'm stuck as the 2nd SS in AA for the Nationals no matter what i do because the starting SS at the AA level is hitting .360 and they won't call him up...

Tip: If you decide to be an infielder, make him a utility guy (set his second position to IF) and you get a lot more starts at the beginning.

I mentioned it earlier, early in the season, I got 5 for 5 on the training goals, and I got nothing for them. Just moved to an every day player, but no extra training points or anything.

So I'm just going to create the player I want and f the training goals like 'contact vs. LHP'

sure I'll increase them a bit at a time, but I'm not spending 200-300 Training points on it, and nothing on defense/speed for 2 months of the season.

thats what I did, 2B/SS

Most of my starts in the first half was because the starting SS got hurt. So I was starting 2 of 3 games between 2b and SS
