Some people were saying yesterday, but I didn't see it in the PS Store. I haven't been able to find anything.

You will no longer start out in Spring Training and have to square off against MLB-caliber players. We’ve changed this flow to better mimic the real world, and to make an invite to Spring Training something that’s earned.
Quote:
We’ve also added in the ability to take pregame batting practice when you’re in the starting lineup for that game. You can step into the cage and take ten swings to help get your timing down before game-time.
Quote:
Lastly, we’ve added a new Mound Warm-Up feature that will give relievers a chance to throw eight warm-up pitches on the mound, after coming out of the bullpen.
Quote:
Moving on to other new game features, one area of focus for us this year was to emphasize fundamental baseball. As a result, we came up with two new systems that are sure to reinforce the notion of “team first.” First we created a new mistake-tracking system that keeps tabs on what you do during a game, and will penalize you for not playing smart baseball. If you do things like throw to the wrong base, forget to cover your base on a force out, or get caught stealing with the pitcher batting to end of the inning, you will receive training point penalties.
Quote:
To combat the “me first” motto a lot of RTTS players have taken when on the basepaths, we’ve created a new Green Light system. When you first start out with a club, you’ll have the Green Light. From there, it’s up to you how you handle it. If you’re a slow runner, and you take the risk of stealing and get caught, there’s a good chance your manager will take away your green light. Continue to steal without it and you risk getting benched for a game or even losing your spot in the lineup. Once the green light is removed, you’ll have to improve your speed and baserunning ability to a level that satisfies your manager in order to regain it.

...the All-Star Futures Game and Home Run Derby also find their way into RTTS.

I turn that option off, but basically you try to guess the pitch and if you are right it increase your chances of getting a hit/homerun. I'm not sure if there is a penalty for guessing wrong.

Ok. Thanks. Im usually pretty adept at sports games, but my SS can't hit to save his life. Im batting like .190 over the first month of the season at AA. Although I am getting crushed, I still really enjoy this game. A hit really feels earned.

Ok, not really, RTTS is pretty awesome, but I've always been a franchise guy in sports games and it's always frustrated me when they leave obvious things out of Franchise modes in favor of more additions to RTTS/Superstar/whatever.

I am with ya Cody. I'm a huge Franchise player. I never really got into RTTS. I never know how to correctly upgrade my stats and feel like it takes forever for me to do it. It probably means I suck at the game but even if thats the case it has made Franchise mode awesome.

Fantasy draft ftw. Always make sure I grab one pitcher that I really like and play each of his starts, lol.

Picked it up today, have just played the RTTS mode as a pitcher. I managed to "one more game" my wife to death and finish up about 20 games. I played this last year and it all seems the same so far with some few minor changes, but that's great because I loved last years too.

I don't even think I played a full season in franchise mode last year, but I am aiming to do that this year.

Do you guys play all 162 games? I have hard enough time playing all the games on Madden, lol

Nah, just pick one pitcher and do his starts throughout a season. Try to go undefeated with him with a below 1.5 era, lol. I usually pick a guy with a quick motion and is young, Lincecum is my favorite. So I get in like 32+ games a season including playoffs. I also pick one of the ALW teams so I get 4 team division + DH.

Is Franchise mode playing all 9 batters, fielding, and pitching? Or can you pick to play just one player and only bat and field with him/whatever you would only do with 1 player?

I preordered the game, but I picked Free Shipping so I have to wait another week.

I do the same thing Needle does, except I create a guy and use him. I also make him the ace of the team, and before anyone whines that I'm being cheap...my team is the Pirates

I personally don't think they looked smudged. What I do notice, and this is being really nitty, on certain replays there seems to be a line or two that goes right down the middle, almost like you're watching the replay on "film"...If this was their intention, then I feel stupid, but I mean it's only a little bit and to me on certain replay's, so I don't know. Again, this is being nitpicky as hell.
