I can't exactly morn the guy.

I was talking to a friend of mine about a feature match he was in with PTR where the coverage said that a draw was declined because they thought one of them had an outside chance of top 8. The exact way it had played out was that my friend said to PTR "I would rather lose $1000 then help you make $1"
The guy was a total douchebag. I met him a few times at various tourneys and he was always an ******* who tried to intimidate the smaller players. For those of you from the old school, he was a mod in #mtg on Efnet for a long time.

Never heard these stories about the guy.

For people to still be calling him a douchebag after he died though, not sure I have ever seen that before.

Just came back from another MTG break. I split my first 8-4 and outright won the next 3.

Rite of Flame is in various combo decks in modern. Modern is a new format.

I'm well aware, that's why I just bought them =]
just confused cause I've never seen a common go for above 1 ticket, seems absurd. I guess there was just a very limited release of coldsnap or something?

that set sucked hardcore for limited (ripple is just a terrible mechanic) and there were no expensive cards in that set at that time. so few packs got opnened.

now whenever a coldsnap card (like dark depths) gets popular its insta super expensive

gotcha, makes sense. had to look up ripple, I can see how that would suck.

Who cares if he was a douchebag? He is gone. Like I said, it's not about you and your feelings (or even about him), it's about the people that are now grieving him. I didn't even know the guy, but I know what it's like to lose someone and I feel for those who are grieving.

The MTG community is pretty small, and the chances of someone who cared about him reading these comments and being hurt by them aren't that remote. You really think they deserve to be made to feel worse than they already do?

From the tone of your post here, you probably deserved to be made fun of aggressively, even at 13.

i also did not provoke him in anyway. i was just a 13 year old kid at my first event with a ugly sweater. really cool being in your 20s and attacking someone. at least he probably looked super cool to his friends. HAHAHA NICE ONE PTR, remember when you made fun of all those guys? that was soooo classic bro. LETS ALL GRIEVE HIM
