I would be surprised if anyone fitting that description didn't love Talos.

I have $1.85 from just randomly selling cards sitting in my account. Stanley Parable is $2.99 and I haven't bought anything in ages. Really tempted to, but need convincing to make myself feel better since I have so many games I don't play.

But this is a game I will easily play within a month because it really excites me, so I shouldn't care about my stupid backlog if this will easily jump it and get played. Irrational, yes?

Not familiar with braid but I will check this out, has potential from that description.

Don't be a slave to your backlog pope!

Embrace your id!

Will probably pick up Stanley too, it's not on my wish list so I forgot about it, but enough critics I respect have said it is a must buy at that price that I feel I should check it out. (And like you said, it's probably a game I'll play sooner rather than later due to its short / casual nature)

El kabong gave me a key for Stanley Parable a while ago (maybe he was trying to steal my account ). I thought the game was awesome. I think for the sale price you would be getting good value for your money, but not a lot of game time. It took me 80 minutes to be done with the game. It is a very easy game to start and finish regardless of your backlog.

I'm about 9 hours in in Talos Principle and I'm worried I'm nearing the end, which is super sad. I'm after C4, but I don't think I'm going for the stars. But please don't tell me if I'm near or not Is the DLC as great as the base?

I like darkest dungeon. The last part isn't there yet (was supposed to be released before year end), but I would guess it will be finished soon.

I don't know why I like the game as much as I do. The voice overs (and writing) are really good for the atmosphere the game goes for.

This is me. Loved both Portals, really like puzzles games in general, and am let down by Talos. The puzzles are too easy and idgaf about the story. I don't feel ripped off for the $10 I paid for it, but if I paid anymore I would.

I enjoyed the DLC a lot, and I think especially if you liked the story part of Talos, the DLC really knocks that out of the park and some of the puzzles are really good.

I'd recommend at least trying for the stars, some of them are like WTFBBQ HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE but a good number are right in that sweet spot range where I would spend an hour trying to work it out, fail, then go to bed and wake up the next morning with a much better idea of what I needed to do.

Not sure why I care about Steam XP but I was very pleased to craft a second holiday badge and use my card money to purchase Particle Mace for $0.49, brining me up to exactly 2500 XP. That's also the only thing I bought this sale since my backlog has stagnated.

I bought it since the sale is ending. I don't want to hunt stars, but I'm all up for new story and enjoyable harder levels, even if they are fewer. Maybe it's not a buy for 10€ but it's a snap for 3,39€

Damage count:

Don't Starve
Dying Light
Star Wars: KOTOR

My 7-year old is way into Star Wars and I thought he would enjoy KOTOR. I actually have it on disk, but didn't know where it was. I tore through my horror show of a home office this weekend and somehow found it. Opened up the four-disc jewel case and...disc one is missing. FUUUUUUUUUUUUU.

So I bought it for $3 on Steam. Would've liked my non-DRM version, though.

Thanks for the info.

I apparently bought a Star Wars pack some time ago, as Steam said a bunch of the Star Wars games were already in my library. KOTOR2 is one of them.

and Road to Gehenna also done, I feel so empty now. I guess I'll eventually try to do stars but I'll hate myself for that.

Crypt of the Necrodancer I've played around 3 hours now and I'm seeing huge potential. It's way bigger than Spelunky and should also yield at least 100 hours. That game has so much depth! I'm loving pretty much everything about it. Controls are a tad annoying but you can get used to it.

Man, you are a beast at Talos. I spent like 40 hours on main game + DLC.

Did you see the art exhibit in Gehenna? I think that was my favorite part.

But I believe you've done stars! Those would be insane I think. And I'm afraid I'll skip them. I believe once I got familiar the puzzles were pleasantly challenging but doable. I only abandoned two after 15 mins and after some time I came back and it struck me. Took me 12,5 hours for base and 4,5 for dlc. Art exhibit you mean one of the three exhibits? Yeah, was great. I enjoyed both stories, not sure why some in the thread didn't like it as much. But then again, I even found GTA V story mode enjoyable so I'm a scrub.

Haha, I've done some stars but all would be ridiculous. With some of them I can't even find where the star is located.

I have one more set of puzzle pieces to get in C. I haven't played much the last few days, but I think I'm up around 11 hours. Most of the time I quickly run around the map looking at the puzzle and figuring out what I need to do and then brute force myself through trying different things until it all comes together. My brain can't seem to wrap itself around the puzzles with the computer. Those usually take me the longest.

I have 5 stars, but won't be going out of my way to try to find the ones that are harder to get. I'm pretty satisfied with the game the way it is, but I definitely recommend it if anyone likes puzzle games.

Just Cause 3 has the worst pseudo-RPG wrapper around skill boosts in the history of GTA clones(which often have terrible, terrible fake RPG systems). Possibly in the history of video games. Whoever signed off on this concept should get fired yesterday, rehired, then fired again tomorrow.

Just Cause 3 was the first game I ever got a Steam refund on. I think JC2 was a fluke given their last two games.
