I think it looks awesome - some of the textures are pretty basic and crude, but they have said those will be updated.

They've gone for a very stylized, vivid graphical style, and it looks really beautiful imo. Walking around in the forest with the sun glittering through the trees is pretty spectacular - bright and colourful all around.

So... I realize 'demo' is a pretty strange concept these days since the general idea is you try to make people pay for something without getting to try it first, but it was kinda big back in the day and it actually means you can try it for free.

And it also means these developers are trying to do right by their customers and deserve a bit of credit imo.

It took me a bit longer than a half hour to discover some of the major gameplay elements. I don't know how long it would be to get through everything I only played it a couple of times. I get your point though, it's a short experience.

So you walk around and ponder lifes big mysteries - such as 'what the **** is this ****?' 'EUR 6.30? Really?', and 'exactly how high do you have to be before this becomes interesting or enjoyable?'.

Admittedly I may have missed something after my 13 minutes of play-time, but seriously: what the ****?

There is more to the game than that it turns out, and it is much more interesting. So yes, you did miss something. How much I don't know. I'm not sure how much there is.

If the experience is what is drawing you to Salt, my opinion would be to give Proteus another try sometime.

Thanks! I was aware of the sale, but missed the fact that Payday The Heist was actually free to own.
