Demon is awful. This is why his teams never succeed. Yes I've played against him before and I've never been impressed

If Demon landed anything the first 10 minutes they would be 50/50 in that game. Aui was farming hard again and Fly/Notail were playing well too

:LGD didnt even play well. They made a **** load of mistakes and got bailed out by even worse play from Demon mostly

im really confused why demon missed those first x->torrents. it looked to me like he had it on 2 levels of x, in that case it should've worked. the second x->torrent rabbit dodged really well by moving forward after the x, which i hardly ever see people do.

don't forget that fly didn't have mana for frostbite on a key early gank mid, i believe turned a sure kill into a double kill for LGD. but yeah demon kind of fell apart in that game, he needs to work on his mental fortitude for those long playing days

My normal is around 4500, played on a friends account at around 3200. Lost two games in a row when I ransomed tide and enigma and couldn't organize a team fight.

Started picking semi carries and on a 13 game winning streak. Let's see how many I can go !

Yeah like I think my issue was playing support as well, unfortunately. I'm now one game away from 4700 (4688) #Roadto5kMMR. I'm starting to play like offlaner or solo heroes and am having a much larger impact on my games I feel like. Also just outdrafting people. Hopefully I can get to like 5000MMR and transition back into support role which I am best at.

StarLadder s8 lan finals this weekend, 60k+ for first. Sigma, Navi Alliance and Fnatic. Should be good! Time to crown champions of Europe

Also when Navi was at the lan finals they have won it every time

I haven't played ranked yet, just starting to warm up in dota again. What's the best way to start ranked with the highest mmr possible? Can i ask like some 5k+ people to queue with me so I can start higher?

I would kill myself if I had to start at 4k and play hundreds of games to get up.

Just play games, it'll put you where you should be and that's best for everyone involved. People tend to overrate how good they are at this game but the system does a very good job of putting people where they should be.

There's a reason why all the pro's find other pros and pubstars only when they queue up.

4k MMR isn't even necessarily that low, it's probably the 95th percentile and a good starting point especially if you've taken time off and are rusty. I don't think anyone could come in after taking a significant time off and play at a 5.5k level anyways.

All of my friends are 5k+ so if I started at 4k I would feel incredibly left out. Especially since it's been said that you generally gain very few points with each win. And I just don't play very much these days.

Isn't the initial placement based on a tiny sample size, like only 5 games played? The amount of variance in something like that can be incredible. So I'm looking for a way to avoid that variance, but I don't know anything about how ranking system works right now (like whether I can play those initial 5 games with friends or not).

Not that I don't understand what you're saying. I probably don't deserve to start at 5k right now but if it's possible to team up with friends early to kind of inflate my starting mmr, then I would definitely take that option.

pretty sure the initial placement is based off the hidden mmr that existed before ranked came about. so it doesn't matter too much if you queue up with friends during placements matches

i think you get a heavy weighting on your previous unranked matches, and the placement matches are only for fine tuning. i have a friend who just started playing and he went 10-0 in placement matches and started at 2500. i went 1-9 and started at 3200. not in the same realm as you guys are talking about, but i assume it's the same at higher skill levels.

yeah one person told me the same thing. He also said I could probably cheese initial party rating to some extent, but doubted I could do anything about the solo rating other than work my way up normally.

Do you guys find the atmosphere in ranked matches so much more mean? I play at a low MMR (3500) and it's just brutal sometimes. Always someone who thinks they're so much better than everyone and blames every failure on teammates.

You're not better. We're all 3500; that's the way match making works...

I want to play more ranked but I also want to have fun when I play and ranked takes a lot of the fun out of the game for me.

The real mouthbreathers get trimmed going up, but there will always be unreasonable people, find some friends to play with, lots more fun that way.

these people are in denial about where the matchmaking has placed them, so they take it out on their teammates. You'll always have those people unless you manage to climb very high, and even then there will be players who are simply just *******s.

the community & player base was even more toxic back in wc3 dota.
