Anomalies like that only last so long, you cannot plan a whole life on an anomaly that gave you the illusion you were just going to be able to print money for decades. If you want money, you need to work.

What I think dstazy100 is saying is be thankful for the money you potentially luckboxed by being around during the good ole days and up until now, but do not think you deserve anything. You only deserve the fish you work to catch but that's it. Now it's everyone's choice to work or not, but you can't complain because an anomaly has disappeared, you have only yourself to blame if you fell for the illusion it was staying for good.
What I wanted to say, only ten times more eloquent than I could ever accomplish.

True.

For me personally though, it would be a huge beat grinding out 60k per year playing online poker for the rest of my life. My mission has always been to earn as much as humanly possible in the next 3/4 years putting in at least 40 hours of actual poker played (not sitting around waiting for games) per week before it gets to the point of $60k per year. Cliched I know...

60k/year from poker is good? With no pension? No retirement plan? No experience on your resume?

Rather have 50k pre tax from a normal job.

yes, but is 60k worth playing poker professionally? To some people this would be a snap yes. To me, it's not. Depends on your education, if you have a family/kids, if you enjoy poker lifestyle (I don't).

I don't enjoy the poker lifestyle either. I play on my own. So I'm basically on my own in front of a computer 6/7 hours a day. Plus the swings are stessful.

Poker frees you up to work when you want though and you can go traveling too, something I plan to do a lot of next year.. Maybe I'll even move into a poker house.

Myself I have a very good degree and could be earning 50k in a job right now.. It's only because of the recession being out of control at the beginning of the year that I seriously pursued poker...

100% she's gonna say yes. we started going out freshman year of college (over 5 years ago). we've been living together for 3 years.

i thought it was gonna suck shelling out a ton of money for a ring too. but i was wrong. i was really happy to do it.

Yeah, the cheapest/easiest way to get engaged is really just a pregnancy test that doesn't go how you expected ime.

It sounds silly from a logical standpoint. But we are not logical beings. Your perceived edge and real edge can differ a lot, even against a donk. Unless you're super self-aware and in tune with everything going on, it's pretty hard to play your best when losing quickly.

Yo syous I'm down to get this table flooding at Stars HU on Dec 1st. Who else is in? Also we should make a thread and direct stars to it in our emails. I've been mass emailing and it is doing nothing.
