Previously mentioned girl did come over last night. I just can't create openings. I did as suggested and put stuff in the way of the loveseat in an attempt to redirect her, but she did throw it off. I did the "come watch this YouTube clip" thing, she came to the couch and watched it then returned to her seat.

Otherwise we sat and talked for four hours with little of consequence happening. I couldn't create an opening that wasn't there. Had a good time and all that, in fact I even had a moment where I realized, "Wow, we've been talking for three hours? I forgot I was even intending to try to put the moves on here, since this has been such a good conversation." In any case, four hours of just sitting and talking is only the type of thing that gets you further entrenched in friend zone in most cases.

I at least did very deliberately mention when the topic got onto how people act when they're drunk that I tend to lose my filter and say true things that I otherwise wouldn't when I get drunk. Just a bit of foreshadowing in case it'll help me out next time we're at the bar or something.

But in general, (1) there never seem to be any realistic openings, (2) I'm pretty terrible at creating them when it isn't something like an obvious date or a girl coming back from a bar or something.

No worries my friend, once I saw your post I knew you had your own stuff going on.

I mean, certainly nothing about last night really damaged me, I think there was about zero chance that she came over intending to hang out until 1 in the morning, she's never stayed and hung out that long. She obviously REALLY likes spending time with me. I'm just afraid that it's not exactly headed in the right direction if I actually want to hook up with her. Not dead yet though.

LKJ, that she moved back from the couch is odd to me. You should put her on the spot next time, say something along the lines of "is the couch not good enough for you?" or "what you cant stand sitting next to me?" that will put her on her toes a little and you will likely learn something from her response.

Honestly I can sort of see how it was natural for her to move back since we were facing each other and talking, and sitting directly next to me would make that weird since I was sitting on the center cushion and she came and sat to one side of me; now that I think back on it, I should have kept to one side, then if she joined the middle she might have stayed...also might be a different situation if we were just sitting down to a movie or something together. I'll be testing that out when I get the chance.

And yes Karak, TR. All these vague posts, you clearly want to tell us what's up.

I wrote out a reply but decided not to post it. By writing it out I realized a lot of the **** that happened really wasn't my fault, but that I just should not have been involved in the situation in the first place.

-girl is at my house. we spend lots of time talking.
-girl is probably into me, but who the **** knows
-i try to TALK to her about it, which i always tell you guys not to do for GOOD ****ING REASON. that ends in disaster (here is where all the fun that is probably not fit to post happens)
