one of my friends who just got back from france texted me about getting some people together to get dinner/drinks tonight. i knew she knows the girl i was going to get dinner with but didn't think they were particularly close. you've probably guessed the end of the story by now but the original girl texted me a few minutes ago telling me she ran into my friend who organized the dinner tonight and will be there too.

i figure she knows i was interested in her and brought up that she is seeing someone today to let me know her deal, is this going to be as awkward as i expect it to be? my plan is to just act like nothing happened, seems standard.
There's absolutely no reason anything need be awkward here. You were interested, she might have been too but is now seeing someone else. What should be weird about this?

the only thing i saw as awkward was that she was supposed to come over for dinner tonight, somewhat indirectly blew it off, then we are going to end up at the same place tonight anyway.

His friend comes out, so I go stand in front of him while they're rolling around on the floor. The bouncer comes along and with a look of total disinterest on his face, tries to roll them apart with one foot. They get up a minute later and I shepherd us off elsewhere.

Later on that night he runs into him again and goes outside and has a beer with him.
I enjoyed this post, especially the bouncer apathetically trying to separate them with one foot.

Disagree. Things are usually pretty friendly around here even when there are disagreements.
I'm surprised to hear you say that. I mean, there's a reason that chart was made that asserted who liked and disliked who. The one that TBE apparently dictated but didn't post.

Yeah but it was mostly green except for thremp, karak, and wsop. I shudder to think how much more red would be on there these days. Perpetual PMS syndrome itt thread.

Also goofy is the softest human being on this forum and goes around loving everyone regardless of how much they deserve it.

Except for Henry.

I mean, I don't know if I'd call that "mostly green," exactly.

I tell people I broke my wrist playing hockey, when in fact I broke it in the locker room swinging from hockey laces connected to a pipe on the ceiling, at the height of my swing the laces snapped and boom goes the dynamite.

The best part is that we had to tell the coaches/parents I tripped over a bag and broke my wrist as to not let them know we were doing stupid **** in the lockerroom. My parents still think thats what happened....but I doubt they would care if I told them the truth.

The worst part about breaking my wrist is it permanently ****ed up my wrist as it didnt heal right so now my basketball shot is off, and I have to do pushups on my knuckles as I cant bend it back far enough.

I have you ignored, but I don't specifically dislike you. I click "view post" more often than not.

I met this girl at a big group dinner the other day and it was veeeeeeerrrryyyyy slightly flirty (I've really been turning down the jets lately and not really caring), mostly just normal getting to know a friend type stuff, I figured I would never see her again and she was cute and it was fun and I might see her some day and we'd awkwardly wave and try to remember how we knew each other. I see she has added me.

Unsure of how to interpret this. I think I have a pretty biased perspective because I never add people after a single interaction, nor do people ever add me after a single interaction. The few times a girl has done something like this, it did turn out that she was interested.

just chatted her on fb and it went well and she said i should get in touch with her when she gets back.

i'm so hot right now.

So have you settled on self-parody as the main point of your reinvention or are you still considering other options?
