Hey guys, sorry about the late update....long day... We had 550 for Day 1a. We expects around 550-600 for tomorrow. We have table space for 480 initial seating, and will seat a lot of alternates.

Cash games have been the usual so far, but had 3 5-10 PLO games, along with 10-20 Omaha 8, a 15 30 mix game, and up to 5-10 no limit. Great turnout all the way around.

Now if we can just sweat this storm...

Johnny is there any chance the $500k guarantee on the main will be cancelled?

Any news about Isaac effecting the tournament series? Was planning on coming down for the events starting Sunday-Wed.

Surprised someone hasn't posted this yet, but they have cancelled the guarantee for Sunday and someone else said the guarantees are also canceled for the rest of the series due to the storm.

f all those whiners on facebook. I am stoaked as **** I went(even though I got home today week early to prep my house for hurricane) The cash games were epic. If you are close to there it is still worth going. Turn out was not an issue. In fact, they are way short of tables. Cash and tournaments. They have plenty of room in the convention center to run cash also. The waiting lists hit 40 and 50 on 1 2 and 2 5 with not one seat available for hours. Great turn out horrible prep/ lack of enough tables. See you gcpc 2013

How can you make it mandatory to play 4 hours of cash a day when you can be on the waiting list for 4 hours. I was waiting for every game there was.

The Beau's official policy is for mandatory evacuation of casino/hotel if a hurricane becomes category 3 by the time it reaches the gulf.

The current forecast calls for it to be possibly up to a category 2 by Tues. Things could be worse or better. It also looks like things will be okay by next weekend.

Lastly, the Beau is waiving their cancellation policy (24hr notice) so you can call in the day of if needed.

Apologies for not posting earlier, but as you have probably read already, we have been very busy. On top of that, we have the looming threat of Isaac in the gulf. Our room reservation cancellations started spiking yesterday night, and have accelerated today. Due to inclement weather that is on the way, we had to pull the guarantees off all events effective today at noon.
This situation is not optimal for the players or for the casino. By having guaranteed prize pool events, we want you guys to know what you are going to get before you make travel plans, reservations, etc. I know those costs factor into your decisions. Rest assured that the decision to pull the guarantees was not made lightly. If you have looked at the weather forecasts, you are well aware that this situation is well beyond our control.

In the end, we will make the decision that is in the best interests of the safety of our guests. For those of you that came down, I hope you had a great time. Thanks for playing with us, and keep your fingers crossed.

Does the cancellation waiver include those coming in for next weekend through the Junket from Tampa? We are planning on coming but obviously we don't know how the weather will be a few days following ?

Thanks for the post JG. Hope this storm doesn't sit out there and soak up a lot of very warm water. This is a great tournament series, I just wish you guys would move it back to start around the 10th of September. Saw a report on the Weather Channel that said NO killer storms have come after that date. Some hurricanes, but no really big ones.
This has happened to this series before, so it just seems a little date change is in order.

At this point, all guarantees have been cancelled and will or be reinstated. I will have better information tomorrow and will post accordingly. At this time, no closure notice has been issued.

Alabama Governor has issued evacuation orders for coastal areas. Would not surprise me if Mississippi does the same. Gulf waters are really warm right now so I'd be worried about quick strengthening. It's also a HUGE storm so a very wide area will be hit with wind, rain, and tornadoes. Be safe, people.
