The funds for the seat come from the promotion fund of the poker room, as do the guarantees for the nightly event.

For the split field events, play resumes at 2 pm on day 2 (table space permitting) play continues in day 2 until a winner is determined.

Registration takes play in the foyer of the convention area, just outside the tournament room. Registration for event 1a is open from 6pm to 9pm on August 23rd, and from 9 am until the end of level 3 on August 24.

I've always wanted to see a H.O.R.S.E type of event without all of the stud variants. You could do one with no limit holdem, plo, omaha hi lo, 2-7 triple draw, and limit holdem.

Can't think of a good acronym for it though.

Any idea if the next series in January will include another large guarantee, lower buy-in tourney like the $340 250K Guaranteed that is part of the GCPC? Thanks for the info.

At this point, neither schedule has been determined. Eric and I will sit down before, during, and after the Gulf Coast event and put the schedules together. Our weekend guarantees have been a huge success, so that's probably a good predictor of things to come.
We are in the process of evaluating how our schedules can improve, and the turnout at the Gulf Coast event will give us more info on how to proceed.

Considering that we have surpassed the guarantee on the opening event by an average of 60%, it's probably a good bet to assume that we continue to maintain the guarantees.

Is there a way to get from the GPT airport to the Beau other than taking a cab? I was surprised to learn that the Beau doesn't offer any sort of shuttle service (free or not).

A cab is the best option. We had a 3rd party shuttle service for a while, but has since stopped.

Rooms are now sold out for the opening weekend. We have every date from August 26-Sept 3 available. For other accommodations, try the best Western Oak Manor at 228 435 4331. Looking forward to seeing many of you here next week. I have already seen a lot of you that are here for the WSOPC at IP.

Due to turnout, we originally planned to do all the day 2 restarts for guaranteed events at 2pm, but that might get pushed back to 3 pm to ensure table space availability.

Johnny, what time is registration open until daily? My parents are coming from out of town on Friday so me and my dad can only play day 1b on Saturday for the opening event but would like to sign up on Friday evening(I can only imagine what the lines will be like and I would rather not get there 2 hours early just to get in line). I am thinking it was 9pm but just want to verify. Also, do we still have to go get tournament chips in the tournament area to sign up, then get in line or has that been changed?

is there a cap on the entrants for each day for the 250k event? probably better off registering thursday for day 1a and friday for day 1b? if you make it through day 1a but already registered for day 1b you get a refund correct?

Well, it appears we will have a great turnout. Rooms are sold out for tomorrow through Sunday. We have limited space on Mon-Thur, so if anyone here is on the fence, you need to call soon to get the $59 mid week rate. We have a $200+$30 no limit hold'em with a $75K guaranteed prize pool on Tuesday/Wednesday.

Great turnout so far. I lost over half my chips with AA on the 8th or 9th hand and never recovered. Really sucks because I was at a very fishy table with only 2 other solid players. Oh well. Onto the next one....
