why are flights so redic expensive??? does anyone have any advice on finding cheaper flights. for some reason argentina is one of the most expensive places in the world to fly to when the rest of the continent seems fairly cheap to travel.

Yea flights are expensive here for whatever reason. I always use kayak.com. Usually average about 700 dollars for a one way or 1100 for round-trip from the S.E. US fwiw.

Make sure you type in BUE instead of just EZE so the search engine will check for the smaller airport in the city as well. Coming from Europe the cheapest flights will often be Madrid to Montevideo to Aeroparque.

And Americans can dodge the extra entrance fee by entering the country through AEP instead of EZE.

Last edited by soah; 08-25-2010 at 06:24 AM. Reason: don't know if it's actually practical for Americans but if you do find flights through AEP I'd definitely take those

Is there any consolidated post with information on visiting BA?

I'm willing to do some research but 95 pages of this thread + 40 of the other one are quite a bit to wade through.

I'm planning on coming in October or November and am looking for suggestions for hotels / etc.

I'd be willing to create a "2p2 travel wiki" for various locations if anyone wants to help.

Well, first of all adjust your forum options and take as many posts/page as you can. For me this topic only has 24pages. It makes reading a lot easier. To be honest the best information you'll find in the first topic, and the first 5-10 pages of this topic. You really should try and read it.

If not, i suggest landingpadBA.com. Not sure if that's the right url but google and you'll find it.

My apartment will be empty next month (from 09/10 to 10/10) and since I already paid my rent I'm thinking of sub renting it.

I pay $750/mo but I will let it go for $200 for the whole month. You need to have a reputation obviously since there is all my stuff around.

The apartment is located at Plaza Italia (palermo) next to the subway and botanic garden, 24h kiosco/supermarket next door. It's quiet/safe and everything is included (towels, water, wifi etc...). TBH the apartment isn't super balla but it's clean and there is enough space for 2. Let me know asap if you are interested so I can give my owner a warning.

Wow, I just came across this thread. I lived in/next to Plaza Italia for 2 months. Its a pretty solid location. We paid 1200 for decent 2 bedroom furnished so 200 is a steal..

My friend brought back an Argentine and married her. My other friend hasn't come back (been almost 3 years since we went down there and I spent 8 months there)..

You live around the corner from me. The kiosco in Armenia & Guemes is shady to say the least.

Anyone still living down there remember me from last year? Sorry, I can't remember everyones 2p2 handles, hopefully you're smarter than me I'll be passing through Wednesday night on my way to the Andes to go skiing for a few weeks before the LAPT. Anyone want to grab dinner or drinks? Offer me a couch/guest bed?

Thanks

I just did a search of bytargentina.com for Sep 1 to Oct 1 and came up with 571 availabilities. You'll be okay. Focus your effort on finding flights.

Alright, so after many years of amazing adventures, I'm selling my beloved, well maintained, and tastefully upgraded Toyota 4Runner. It has been my vehicle for about 7 years, and 2 years ago I drove it down to Argentina from Denver with some friends. I'm presently using it for a ski trip in Bariloche, but I will have no use for it at the end of the month and already have a duplicate back in the states. Valid US title and Colorado plates (expired tags).

This car is amazing. It was so amazing, I plan to own a Japan built Gen 3 4Runner for the rest of my life; I've already purchased my 2nd. This thing is literally ready to charge on a 6 month voyage to the US if you so desire, or navigate crazy BA traffic. Its much shorter than most solid SUVs for versatility, it even parallel parks well!

After skiing and the LAPT Rosario, I'm planning to drive it to Paraguay to sell it unless I receive some very serious/credible offers. I would love to see it go to a good home. I am posting on other forums as well.

Looking to make a fair deal. I'm guessing its worth about 16k in BA, 12k in Paraguay, 7k in the States. I'll open the discussion by asking U$D 11,000 obo for a quick and easy transaction. Very, very serious offers only PLEASE, BA is not on my planned route for this trip. I could possible accept online money for part or all of the bill, depending on price.

Please PM me for details, references available. Thanks.
