So you don't like watches and still want to drop 5k on one.

Can't you just go get hookers and blow instead or something.

Never been a fan of zenith or omega.
Brietlings are so damn big that they are fairly lame IMO.
The only rolex i would really want is a gpld presidential, and i dont have 30k so i dont really want to go rolex.

see my dilema?
I appreciate this somewhat. It's hard to find something perfect which is what you really want when spending a large amount on a watch that you are going to be wearing most days.

I found JLC's to be great but generally to dressy. Like some Zenith's and Omega's but none enough to buy. GO's are amongst my favourite but also on the dressier side.

I really like some of the slightly higher end brands but you are now getting into the 10k+ range. Ultimately I decided I'd be happier wearing my TAG that I bought under similar circumstances as you, until I'm ready to pull the trigger on a Patek/Vacheron/AP etc

i do like watches, otherwise i wouldnt be looking to drop that much on one.

My hooker funded is already funded prior to the allocation to my new watch fund.

this is the other one i have had my eye on...

http://www.swissluxury.com/cartier-w...godiyUA3g#1258

cartier tank, two tone

As the owner of a Roadster that tank is gross, plain and feminine. Don't get me started on the 2 tone.

Of course, for each their own, but those look really girly and awful imo.
Maybe just bad pics.

I don't understand how you can write off JLC and the many variations on the Reversos if you like the Cartier.

With enough left over for hookers and blow.

Mostly at the upper end/over budget, but you could unload the TAG

JLC Master Calendar (~$7300)

Glashutte Original PanoMaticLunar (~$8000)

Breitling Trans-Ocean chronograph 43mm (not HUGE) (~$6200)

iwc 2011 portofino 8 days (a bit over budget at ~$9200, but sweet)

And on the lower end, love the Dornbluth & Sohn 99.1 (~$4300)

i think that is the annual calendar version of the transocean, which runs a bit more than $6k

Hmm, these are prices I had found about a year ago when I made my list. Lowest I can see now is $7900 @ Chrono24, but I didn't spend much time searching. Jomashop has for $8300 also.

You'll prob have to add about 1k for the SS band instead of croc skin.

Lots of options in Masters series. I'm partial to the ultra thin moon 39.

The reason I am a big JLC fanboy is that I feel JLC are wonderful movement makers. They've made movements for the big 3, PP, AP, VC.

Here is an article on the JLC 920

As to why I love Glashutte Original. Its because I really feel they are the poor man's Lange and unlike Lange, they will actually make pieces in steel and on bracelets. The only problem is that many GOs don't look super great dialside. You gotta look at that junk in the trunk.

That's what I was going to recommend -- my grail. Looks like it's about $7,700 new these days.
