G-shock Mudman Rally GW-9010 is ~$100 and does basically everything. Atomic radio sync, solar power, etc etc etc.

The mudman series is nice because it has higher resistance to mud (duh), dust, etc.

If you're really into scuba get a g-shock frogman. They're more expensive but they're ISO rated dive watches.

The last one I guess is a little smaller

G-Shock, the watch that has been supporting surfers and action sports enthusiasts worldwide, brings you the new G-Lide line-up. With its slim & compact design, the new G-Lide hugs your wrist without getting in the way.
Need to find specs on these 2 diff white ones to see how diff they would be.

edit: sorta like this one too tho i think green is prob less my style than white/blue

I think the one PVN posted is far too gigantic, no reason to sport a watch that large/capable when you just need a cheap Timex or smaller G-Shock like what you've posted. FWIW, I like one of the white ones above.

Personally, I'd be repping one of these:

I always thought their ana-digi watches were cool too, but probably not worth it if you're never gonna wear the thing really, I like the style of the last three too though.

Edit: They're cheaper than I remembered actually, big watches though, lot's of Casios here

AMW320D. $50, basically disposable. There's a black-dial version as well.

These look good on a nylon nato-type strap.

I like it.

Seiko recently released a couple of models like this, but updated with all the modern bells and whistles.

Wow, these are sweet and ridiculously inexpensive. I will have to do some more reading on these.

I got the watch at target about 3 years ago. I think that particular model is discontinued but they have a ****load that are pretty darn similar.

The zulu straps are available at a couple of places.

Lovely watch and great value. This thread has been off on a weird ugly-watch tangent for awhile, so thanks for bringing it back on track.

The one in that vein I like a lot is the Stowa Marine Original (handwound):

They didn't have the white model I wanted at the Casio place in NYC so I went w this one. It's a little aggressive but I've worn it the last two days and it's been growing on me a lot. It's funny I've prob gotten 10x the compliments on this watch in the past two days than I have on my Porto in 6 months.

I spent quite some time looking for a nice watch the last couple days. At the moment i really like the Breitling Navitimer and the TAG Heuer Carrera.

Any input on one of them? Is one of them better than the other when it comes to the mechanics, accuracy or longevity?

Question: Why is 10:10 most always used in stock watch photos?

Because that's generally the position where the hands will block the least amount of interesting stuff on the dial. Also, it looks balanced.

Via dealnews.com, here's the Invicta 8926 for $59.99 with free shipping for a few more hours. I think this is one of the best watches you can get for under $200, and at this price it's a steal. It's basically a clone of the Rolex Submariner, although it doesn't have a sawtooth bezel.
