Pretty cool idea... until of course the iWatch launches.

hey guys

weird situation, just wondering how you would handle it.

I sold a watch on WUS. Negotiated the price a bit off my asking price. Dude sent the paypal, I shipped the watch same day.

Watch shipped out at around 2:00PM. At 7:00PM he PM's me and wants to back out of the deal and asked for only a partial refund (i.e. offering for me to keep part of the sale for my trouble).

I just told him it already shipped, I also gave him the screen names of a few guys that were also interested in the watch.

Should I play this any differently? I don't want to be a huge dick but I also don't want to **** around with having this shipped back to me and re-listing it just because he's changed his mind. He's a regular, so he's flipped watches before, I don't think it's too unreasonable to just let him flip this one himself if he doesn't want it.

Btw are those PRC200s' listed all fakes given the low price?

I saw this a while ago browsing kickstarter for things to sink my money in to (which is annoyingly addictive) and passed on the opportunity to buy one. But an iWatch - I hope not?

@pvn: I don't see a problem with letting him flip the watch now that you've actually shipped it out to him and it's a 'done deal'. It should be easy enough as there was enough interest and you've hooked him up with some names. If he's going to be difficult and it'll potentially hurt your sales rep, then it might be worth considering.

Edit: @J0hny: No, doubtful, they're about $350 new or something. It's a similar, and much nicer, alternative to the watch you first posted.

My pleasure. Ulysse Nardin has a really nice one too. Just got it a couple days ago.

Then is that some different model or why so much more expensive than the others listed? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Tissot-PRC-2...item53e9d12cd8

And yeah the one on the link looks nicer.

You've obviously struck a deal with him, I think he should be stuck with his decision. Though if you don't "want to be a d!ck about it" ask him to make it worth your while to ship it back if he doesn't want to flip it himself.

Good luck.

well the amount he requested in refund would actually make it worth my while. But I'd rather not mess with it. So I'll probably just give him the option.

There are a few variations of the PRC200 - the one you linked on eBay has a navy blue dial (slightly less common as far as I know) and it is also on a bracelet, whereas the one I linked comes on a leather strap (as a rule, always cheaper) and white/cream face is slightly more common. Otherwise they're the same watch, and the one on eBay is overpriced IMO.

If you're not interested in the bracelet, may as well buy the one you like on leather strap. This isn't the best re-sale advice, but as you can see it's not hard to buy a used PRC200 anyway.

Okay, I thought they are by default so expensive.
I've been looking for a nice chronograph with a reasonable price tbh and the PRC200 seems like a nice deal tho.
The first one with a leather strap I asked about is nice also, must think.

Looks super nice, http://www.amazon.com/Tissot-T171586...=Tissot+PRC200

Well id say his offer is reasonable, and makes sense businesswise as well?

Id agree to it. Courtesy + you get moniez

I'd say he pays to ship it back and gives you a little taste for the trouble, I'd take that.

I would strongly suggest not buying a prc200 from ebay. It will almost always turn out to be fake. There is a thread in the Tissot subforum on WUS about the fake prc200's on ebay. If you go to a good AD you could get one for around $300, or keep your eyes open and you can probably pick a used one up from WUS for $200 or so.

Good advice then J0hny, my bad for commenting otherwise. I suppose it is a popular watch, so profitable to fake. I should have said that I wasn't really referring to buying a new watch from eBay - rather one from someone that isn't selling exclusively PRC200s with no returns allowed. But ideally yeah, you'd buy from somewhere like WUS if you're buying used.

Definitely going to sell my m199s if I can get $600+ for it. If not will hold onto it as my dressiest watch but need to replace the strap.

Now just have to decide between three watches to "replace" it. Already have a pilots watch, a retro steel diver and a preordered black diver so pretty much just need a nice leather strap "dress" watch. Trying to decide between Steinhart, Archimede and Prometheus.

Any thoughts or other recommendations?

Steinhart Marine Chronometer II Premium Roman (also make a cheaper non-premium version)

Archimede Klassick Chronograph

Prometheus Signatura

Oh and the two other watches I have and one that is pre-ordered are as follows.

What I am really looking for is something to wear to work with a suit but I don't need a true dress watch.

Prometheus Recon 5 (wear casually on weekends)

Prometheus Trireme (daily wearer and w/ nicer attire on weekends)

Hexa K500 (will probably supplement the Trireme once I get it)

wow, that's surprising that people would fake a $300 watch. But thanks for the tip.

Just got this as a wedding present, 42mm Seamaster Planet Ocean. Pretty stokked.

(not mine pictured)

Any tips on keeping it super shiny and pretty and ways to use that helium release valve when I'm taking my watch diving? (I'm not going diving)
Let's Talk Watches Quote

First off, congrats, the 42mm is awesome, the 45mm looks stupid big on most people unless you're like shaq or something.

He valve is stupid, don't ever use it. Just keep it closed always and forever unless you're a commercial diver, in which case you should already know what to do with it.
