Really happy with today's DC, first time in a while I have been. Wouldn't be incredibly shocked if someone beat me though.

Congrats for the 50k+ Donk! Those aren't easy to get.

I definitely support this rule. There have been a lot of other posts too that were TMI. But since nobody else seemed to care I didn't want to point them out to be the only one who complains about those. Can only speak for myself, but if I see something posted about a DC before playing it, it can affect the way I play even if it wouldn't apply to the way I'm playing the challenge. It is annoying to have to think about something else than actually trying to play the DC as well as possible. Of course nobody forces me to read the thread before playing the DC, but overall I think that anything that can affect the way someone plays (whether it helps or not), shouldn't be posted, so this rule would make sure that it doesn't happen.

This happened, winning the DC while not gaining any rating! Although technically it is not true, since Paul's rating went from 1465.X to 1465.Y, where Y>X, but the rating gained was not more than one whole rating point.

Another first-time (very likely) TC event, finally managed to get that 840 award point game. This was very, very difficult to do.



This particular game went pretty smoothly though, got right kind of racks, didn't even have to use many manipulations, only three. Last rack was kind of interesting, I needed 226XX, where XX had to be scoring dice (4s/5s/6s), but both couldn't be 4s. I was thinking whether to re-roll rack or re-roll 1, which had a 40 % chance of becoming a 2 or a 3, that could be changed to a 2. If the re-roll 1 would've missed, I would've had to use re-roll rack with one less manipulation left after that. But there were too many combinations with the re-roll 3 and re-roll 1 left that it would've been easy to calculate the odds of getting a successful new rack with the re-roll rack, so I chose to just re-roll 1 and hope for the best, while still having the back-up plan there, if it had missed, luckily it didn't.

That nameless player is very good, only Anon can challenge him/her/it.

Sign-ups are open until Wednesday the 25th. The tournament will start on Monday the 30th (to allow time for people to fill out their brackets). If you want to play, please let me know either here or on the front page chat. This time around I'm considering grouping people based on time zone to make the early round matches easier to play, so please include your time zone when you reply.

If any of you have friends or members of other forums who'd be interested, now would be a good time to have them sign up and learn the game.

Also, any more input on the number of games per round? I know Paul wants longer rounds, but I haven't heard many other opinions. What does everyone else think? I kind of like the drama and upsets that short rounds can cause (and I'm afraid of scaring away the less hardcore players with marathon rounds). Thoughts anyone?
