you have to multiply computer age by 10-12, similar to dog years
09-01-2013 , 04:51 PM
you want thingamabobs? ive got 20

Also, I should probably add that it's not smart for me in particular to buy a fancy laptop bc I have a history of breaking computers

(I think this is number 8)

And to that end, you could buy a 'new' similar working piece of **** for very little and save any faffing about.

Well what about that laptop pic I just posted? What is that falling out the side? It says disk drive on it, no idea what that is. How do I make it stay in and work again?

New PS3 game-buying possibilities now strongly lean toward the zombiriffic The Last of Us.

FWIW random crappy towers start at $46.75 on ebay but then that card chips posted was only $10. I'd still go for a cheap-ass video card.

my current computer dates from about 2005. It's still continent, just about, but does tell some really longwinded and incomprehensible stories about some war or something.
09-01-2013 , 04:57 PM
I think it's 2 questions.

You can have this computer working for $20. Indeed the parts value is basically 0, but it has value for you if it's working and has your stuff on it.

A new computer would be much nicer. Amplify is giving good advice there.

Also, you play poker on your computer? Intriguing.

Sounds like your harddrive is ****ed. HDD stands for 'hard disk drive', so that's what that is. You would need a new laptop harddrive and would need to install windows on it, a more expensive and time consuming fix than the desktop.

So yeah, a MacBook air is not in my future. I can't be trusted with electronics.

I see

Have you thought about investing in some sort of security device so you can't pick them up? :P

It blue screen of deathed a few times after that, but then recovered (although the sound was borked)
