You can switch the altimeter between showing altitude "Above Sea Level" or "Above Ground Level". Good when landing near mountains or on Mun.

Delta V is a rockets gas gauge. To go from Kerbin to Mun and back takes a certain amount of Delta V to accomplish. This number is based on your rocket weight, amount of fuel and the engines. There are charts online that explain how much Delta V you need to get to various places. e.g. low kerbin orbit is 3400 dV. To go from Kerbin to landing on Mun is 5150 dV.

Here's a dV planner site: https://13375.de/KSPDeltaVMap/

I've posted a bunch of this stuff several times in previous KSP posts for you. Including what mods to use.

I would at minimum use a visual atmosphere/sky mod like:

Ouch.

Sea level versus ground level will be pretty clutch. I usually just crash once to work out where it is.

Delta v presumably assumes some efficiency of use of your rockets. I'm pretty sure that we waste a lot of energy in the atmosphere by our understanding of how to launch.

I went back to work, so I guess it's September. Hi.

Correct. Add whatever margin you want but you're not doing it for less than these numbers. The dV numbers are also valuable during a mission so you know if you are screwed and can't complete it or if you need to come up with an alternate idea.

Also remember that the Isp for an engine is drastically different between in an atmosphere at sea level and the vacuum of space. You can specify this in the DV calculator. So first stage engines are different from 2nd/3rd stage engines...

And I agree, practicing the gravity turn is useful. (And remember to point east)

I was thinking in the shower the other day:

You are able to google search imgur saved images. So that means that Google saves duplicate images for search for images that Imgur an image storage company already stores.

And a further thought:

Imgur, can then plan for this and instead of storing images, they just redirect image queries to the google image. So instead of saving images, Imgur just becomes an image redirection service with no storage requirements.

Genius!

Very interesting. I wonder if there was a second primordial soup zapped by lightning. Or, maybe, more spores from the cosmos landed here. More likely, some smartass went back in time and took a dump. Intestinal bacteria found a foothold in some geological nook, proliferated, and diversified, to become all we have today. It would explain much.

Come on, I'm not falling for it. Everyone knows life started 8000 years ago.
