oh containment to 1 special thread, yes that seems fine.

Fascists itt, use your ignore buttons you bored bitches
12-13-2015 , 08:18 PM
no, because then I just end up wondering what the stupid post was and clicking through and reading it anyway because I'm apparently an idiot
12-13-2015 , 08:23 PM
You need some script ignore, removes that temptation. It's like the person doesn't even exist. I try to only use it in special cases. Works on mods too!

I miss ffvb, that was the GOAT

kioshk, how did you celebrate your birthday? Anything special?
12-13-2015 , 08:40 PM
I just use "manual ignore" and skip past posts I know I'm not interested in

im trying to get on a better sleep schedule and woke up at 4:30 pm today.

i took 3 ativan at 3am. i didn't feel any effect. it took me over an hour to fall asleep, but then i slept for 12 hours! i haven't done that in like 20 years.

haha no, Mark K remembered I had a birthday in early December, it's quite a few days late.

I think I remember you having a somewhat similar birthday, eyebooger. Happy Birthday if so!

The years, they do seem to fly by.

Thanks.

Was hoping I shared a birthday with a POG legend. (Besides Taylor Swift)

Happy belated birthday, k-man.

If Kristofero was limited to something like 3 Pub posts a day I could handle it.

Also I have a laptop that I use for work every day, but then also sometimes use for browsing the internet, watching twitch, etc. on the weekends. Where do I draw the line between work computer and personal laptop on the weekends? Would downloading something like Binding of Issac or Rocket League be going too far if I never touch that stuff during the actual work week?

afaik they don't actually track what I do on the laptop, but they have the capability to remote access it.

Depends on your own personal work situation.

If you're at all questioning it, I probably wouldn't without more signs that it's okay. (e.g. bosses doing something similar on their computers, finding out an equal has done something similar and higher ups don't care)

I work remotely so I honestly have no idea about what others do. I've been holding off, but damn it gets boring with no cable and the wife always using our 1 personal laptop for her work. I'll be in the office for a couple days in about a week so I'll get a chance to check it out and maybe ask around with some people who are on the chill side of things.

Appreciate the input

I must say that losing a geography/sports thunderdome was a pretty rotten birthday present.

I blame Booker.

So does everyone

But you could not do that

kritofero had good posts about acting and friday night lights. if you are interested in the things he's posting about, then his posts are great. pretty mush just like anyone else.

kristofero, did you watch the tv show parenthood? bsball told me to watch it because katims from friday night lights made the show. minka kelly is in it, and i'd watch anything with her in it. but she isn't in it enough to make up for how awful it is. godawful.

actually.... she looks a little like our very own crossnerd <3

I'm just suggesting that if we can all learn to ignore professional hate monger kioshk and co, we can learn to ignore mr nonsense on a stick.

Or maybe kioshk wants to challenge him to a survivor?

If it makes you feel any better you clearly know more obscure facts than anyone, you just ran bad.

Happy birthday

The key is ignoring kioshk posts that aren't puns

Spoiler:
I don't actually ignore any of the posts in here. I even read the ****ty politics ones!

I manage laptops in the same situation you're in. Remote workers, we don't track what they do, we do have remote access capability. The laptops are for work but we understand that it's the main personal laptop for a lot of people as well.

We don't care what people put on there as long as it doesn't **** with what we put on there, and if there's a problem with the laptop we will remove anything that we think might be a problem. I personally would be happy to see Binding of Isaac on any of our laptops, it shows good taste. I'm not thrilled if you have 5 search toolbars on your browser and uTorrent installed.

In short, if you have admin access on a laptop you keep at your house, we expect you to install reasonable personal programs on it.

I absolutely adore Chicago and there is a non-zero chance that I'll never go home.
